From the LSC Office
The Lone Star Conference will hold a football preseason media day Thursday, July 28, in Odessa, Texas.
With the 2016 season upcoming, all 10 football head coaches will be in Odessa for a luncheon with the media including UT Permian Basin’s Justin Carrigan, whose Falcons are joining the LSC this season in the program’s first year. During the event, league officials will announce the preseason poll and players of the year.
The day begins with registration followed by lunch, a brief program, remarks from each football coach and an open interview session.
The season kicks off September 1 and the LSC has 10 teams with the addition of UTPB, Western New Mexico and Oklahoma Panhandle State this season. Each team will play nine conference games to determine the LSC Champion.
In 2015, Texas A&M-Commerce repeated as league champions with a perfect 6-0 record. Midwestern State captured the 2015 LSC Playoffs Championship with a 10-2 overall record.
Three LSC teams were included in postseason play last season, with MSU and A&M-C advancing to the NCAA Division II playoffs, and Eastern New Mexico playing in the C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl.
