Trimble intrigued by opening:
During a Thursday radio interview on the Tulsa Sports Animal, Jenks High School football coach Allan Trimble admitted to being intrigued by the vacant head-coaching position at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
The Bronchos compete at the NCAA Division II level. UCO officials would be crazy if they don't give strong consideration to Trimble, who has captured nine Class 6A championships in 12 seasons at Jenks. Trimble can coach, obviously, and you would expect him to recruit well in Tulsa County.
The jump from high school to college football certainly worked well for Trimble's former adversary, Bill Blankenship. After winning three state titles in a four-season span at Union, Blankenship resigned in order to pursue college jobs. He was sidelined for a year, but Blankenship wound up as the University of Tulsa's receivers coach. Blankenship is credited with the development of outstanding young re ceivers.
