Sweet Sixteen has a nice ring to it, but for both UCO and Tarleton there is no time to celebrate or reflect on the tough wins they needed to get here. Only one thing matters - winning the next game and advancing to an even sweeter sounding level - the Elite Eight. UCO has been to the Elite Eight one time (1992) and is 1-2 in South Central Regional Final games. Tarleton has been to the Elite twice (2005 Final Four, 2006) and is 2-1 in South Central Regional Final games.
This will be the third time these two have squared off this year, with Tarleton winning in Stephenville on January 3rd 73-70 in OT and UCO winning in the LSC Tournament semifinal 77-65.
