STEPHENVILLE - Tarleton Football welcomed 35 new Texans from various high schools across the state, and one standout from Florida, during National Signing Day today. Tarleton head coach Todd Whitten joined Byron Anderson on the Tarleton Sports Network at TexStar Ford showroom for a special edition of his weekly radio show to discuss his class Wednesday night. "I'm very thankful for our coaching staff and their families for putting up with the long hours and many miles they've traveled over the last few months," said head coach Todd Whitten. "Our coaching staff has put in many hours and I believe that we've brought in a quality group of kids who can help this team win football games.
 
"We really think this class of kids can be a great addition to our program," he continued. "They are quality students on the field and in the classroom and, most importantly, they could fill some areas of need for our football team."

Two-year starter for Glen Rose … 2017 All-District first team WR … 2017 All-District honorable mention DB … All-Central Texas honorable mention … Blue-Gray All-American Bowl WR … As a senior, recorded 40 catches for 926 yards and 11 touchdowns in 11 games … As a junior, made 14 catches for 269 yards and two touchdowns in eight games.
 
Coaches say:
"He's a wide receiver who can really run. We believe he has the body frame to add another 20 lbs or so and still be a dynamic athlete. He's a raw talent but we believe the ceiling is very high for Dakota."

Coaches say:
"Joanly possess a great skill set for field goals and kickoffs. His experience for kicking off the ground will translate to the college game much smoother than most kickers. His accuracy and leg strength are things we're mostly excited to see."

"JaQuan is fast. He is a dynamic athlete that can score any time he touches the ball. He is another guy with the potential to contribute early on in his career, potentially in all three phases of the game."
