10/5 Picks Recap

Last Week (3-3)
Season (8-4)

UCO 24-21 over ECU (Prediction 28-21) - ECU almost messed this up missing a chip shot FG that would have tied it with under a minute to go. Ryan O'Hara comes off the bench to lead the Broncho offense. RB Birmingham, and WR Montgomery with huge games.

TAMC 41-39 over SEO in triple OT (Prediction SEO 24-17) - Close but no cigar. Game was 23-16 late in the fourth, but the Lions tied it up and outlasted the Savage Storm. Terry Mayo came off the bench in this one to lead TAMC. After taking a 21-10 lead in 4th, SEO goes 3 and out on next two possessions.

ASU 28-21 over ENMU in double OT (Prediction ENMU 35-17)- The Greyhounds were overrated (guilty), and will have to realize that they cannot consistently win without any kind of passing game. Daniel Thomas had another great game (Kyle who?), but the Rams will need to score more than 14 in regulation next week.

ACU 58-7 over NSU (Prediction 38-7) - The Wildcats scored on all 8 first half possessions to go in at halftime up 51-0. NSU was guildty of compounding their problems with 4 turnovers giving ACU a short field to work with. ACU backups get plenty of playing time as they call of the dogs in the second half.

Tarleton 31-21 over TAMK (Prediction 28-21) - As predicted this game was closer than many thought it would be. The Texans had success running the ball (179 yds) as Michael Sampson had his best game of the year with 141 yds and a TD. Scott Grantham however had his worst game going 8-19 for 124 yds, 1 TD and 2 Ints. Tarleton benefitted from great field position in the first half (avg. start 46 yd line) and 5 TAMK turnovers to escape with a win.

WT 25-20 over MSU (Prediction MSU 35-28) - Bill Maskill is busy getting Don Carthel's resume ready to send to every DI job opening this season. For the third year in a row the Buffs beat the Stangs in a close one. WT's defense did the best job so far of slowing Polk's running down. This is especially important as MSU uses Polk's feet to set up the passing game. WT wasn't clicking on all cylinders offensively either, with Keith Null suffering 4 INTs. Keithon Flemming bounces back from a couple of sub-par games with 107 yds rushing and 50 receiving. WT now in the driver seat, and MSU suddenly fighting for its playoff life with a trip to Stephenville next Saturday.

Dead on with some, dead wrong on some others. Nature of the game.

Makes it fun though.
