LSC Scoop Power Poll and Week Seven Superlatives

1. ACU (1) - Tough back and forth battle with Wildcats coming out on top.
2. WTAM (2) - Buffs stampede Texans again.
3. TAMK (4) - Bounce back win on the road.
4. MSU (3) - Slugged it out with the Wildcats, but came up just a bit short.
5. ASU (5) - Third straight close loss.  Can Rams rebound to close out strong?
6. NSU (9) - Huge homecoming win over TAMC puts NSU in the LSC North drivers seat.
7. ENMU (7) - Does big win over UCO make the North a two team race?
8. UIW (10) - Three 4th quarter TDs covered a total of 91 yards.
9. UCO (6) - Young Bronchos outscored 28-7 in second half.
10. TAMC (8) - Margin of defeat (not the loss itself) surprising.
11. SOSU (12) - Had to gut out 2OT win over SWO at home.
12. TSU (11) - Had no answers for WT, two late scores mask a bit of the domination.
13. ECU (13) - Turnovers and poor field positon  in fourth cost Tigers.
14. SWO (14) - Gave Savage Storm all they could handle at home.

Best Team Overall Performance - Northeastern State

Riverhawks dominated Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday, 38-7.  Offensively, NSU rushed for 241 yards and 2 TDs and passed for 246 and 3 TDs, while the defense limited the Lions to just 188 total yards.  Kenny Davis possibly had his best game at QB, hitting 14-23 passes for 212 yards with 3 TDs and no interceptions. Josh Lewis rushed for 96 yards and a TD, while Ben Randle caught 4 passes for 57 yards and 2 TDs.  Nate Robinson had two interceptions for the defense.

Best Team Offensive Performance - West Texas A&M

The Buffaloes piled up 597 yards Saturday, 93 on the ground and 504 through the air.  Taylor Harris threw for 419 yards with 3 TDs and no interceptions, and Tanner Marsh came in late and added another 85 yards passing and a TD pass with just under 4 minutes to play. Tyson Williams and Stephen Burton returned to the starting lineup and combined for 16 catches for 264 yards and 3 TDs.

Best Overall Defensive Performance - Texas A&M-Kingsville

The Javelinas held Angelo State to 56 yards and 12 points under their season average in their 28-21 win Saturday.  After allowing two second quarter TDs, TAMK clamped down shutting out the Rams in the second half and scoring a TD of their own when Josh Luck stripped V'Keon Lacey and returned the ball 62 yards for a TD in the third quarter.

Best Offensive Performance - Taylor Harris, West Texas A&M

Harris completed 33 of 49 passes for 419 and 3 TDs with 0 interceptions.  For the season, Harris has an LSC leading 2,409 yards with 15 TDs and 10 interceptions.

Best Defensive Performance - Tillman Stevens, Eastern New Mexico

Stevens had 10 tackles and two passes broken up for the Greyhounds.  He also had 3 second half interceptions, returning one 62 yards for a TD (with UCO trailing 42-31 and driving) and his final one with 5:57 to play and UCO inside the ENMU 10.

Best Special Teams Performance - Dekari Pecikonis, Angelo State

After Texas A&M-Kingsville tied the score in the third quarter, Pecikonis took the ensuing kickoff 97 yards for a TD, putting the Rams back up 21-14.  For the day, Pecikonis would total 145 yards on 4 returns, to go with his 6 receptions for 104 yards.
