It's safe to say that everyone expected to see improvement from the Javelinas, but they ended the season exceeding just about everyone's expectations.  The season started well with wins over FCS Incarnate Word and Simon Fraser from the GNAC.  Next up were three late game losses by a combined 5 points to Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Commerce and Angelo State.  Instead of losing focus with the playoffs out of reach, the team responded with 6 straight wins, outscoring opponents 41.7-23.  In LSC games, the Javelinas outscored teams by a 37.4-25.6 margin (2nd best margin) and outgained them 435-367.

OPSU we hardly knew ya.  In their one and done LSC season, the Aggies did about as expected, beating UTPB, and decently against a few established LSC programs.  Week 2 was probably the highlight of the season, beating FCS Arkansas-Pine Bluff 2016, scoring two fourth quarter TDs to pull off the upset.  In losses, they led MSU 24-21 in the third quarter and trailed Tarleton 24-19 late in the third.  So they were competitive at times.  In LSC play, they were outscored by a 43-23 margin and outgained 492-412.

Truelove, Moore, Hernandez, and Trotter were seniors this year.  If all the others return, the Aggies should have a very nice NAIA season.

The Falcons didn't really do much in LSC play, but they weren't expected to.  They opened the season with wins over D3 Sul Ross and NAIA Arizona Christian.  In LSC games, they did play Oklahoma Panhandle State close, losing 44-54, but did not come within 28 points in any other conference game.  They were outscored by a 57-19 margin and outgained 545-340 in LSC games.
