CANYON, Texas - West Texas A&M University Director of Athletics Michael McBroom has announced that the University has reached an agreement with KAMR-TV to televise all available WTAMU away football games for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
"We certainly appreciate the expanded commitment which KAMR-TV is making to West Texas A&M and its football program," McBroom said. "Having this coverage will be exciting for our students, alumni and football fans across the Texas Panhandle."

`The High Country Chevy Dealers are proud to be behind West Texas A&M football,' said Gary Morganflash, President of the High Country Chevy Dealers Association. `We think the world of Coach Carthel, like the direction the program is heading and it's good for the Texas Panhandle. To put a spin on an old saying, this is all about `Football, Steaks, Apple Pie and Chevrolet.'
The two-year agreement continues an alliance between the two entities which has seen the Amarillo-based NBC affiliate televise Buffalo football for the past three seasons.
"This partnership with West Texas A&M is what local television is all about," said Mark McKay, KAMR-TV Vice President and General Manager. "The ability to feature a successful local athletic program on a local station is what separates local TV from all the other channels."
