From the LSC Office
RICHARDSON, Texas – The Lone Star Conference has announced a public reprimand of Abilene Christian University head softball coach Bobby Reeves for making physical contact with an umpire in a league game earlier this week.
“Coach Reeves’ actions on Sunday afternoon were unfortunate and contrary to the Lone Star Conference organizational value of respect. Coaches are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner, and physically abusive and intimidating actions toward game officials absolutely will not be tolerated in this conference,” said LSC Commissioner Stan Wagnon. “In consulting with Coach Reeves and the ACU athletics administration, we are confident ACU has taken measures to address what we believe to be an isolated incident, for which Coach Reeves has expressed remorse. We took into account that this is a first-time offense and that he has committed to conducting himself appropriately as the season progresses.”
In addition to the league reprimand, Coach Reeves already has served a two-game suspension, as required by NCAA softball rules for physical contact with an umpire.
