Large brawl ends in arrests
Three Tarleton State University men's basketball players were taken into custody early Sunday morning for fighting in a parking lot on Washington Street.
According to Lt. Doug McClammy with the Stephenville Police Department, an officer was on patrol shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday when she told dispatchers she was pulling into the parking lot between Antonio's and Sonic. The officer requested backup, reporting a large crowd of people - between 100-150.
The officer reported she could hear screaming and yelling and thought she heard someone yell "fight." Before the crowd could disperse, officers arrested seven suspects for disorderly conduct - fighting, a class C misdemeanor.
Emmanuel Andrews, 22, Damion Earl Clemons, 20, and Cameron Earl Lenzy, 20, all Tarleton students, were arrested for fighting. Others arrested were Keith Ray Bryant, 18, Quinton LaRay Grant, 18, Jonathan Von-Eric Hunt, 18, and Deon Ray Price, 19. Several of the students attend Cisco Junior College.
