It's finally here. We are a mere hours away from the opening kickoff for the LSC 2013 football season. Angelo State is hosting Black Hills State from the RMAC conference tonight at 7:00. The Yellow Jackets were 4-7 last year, closing out the season with three straight wins (but against teams with a combined 3-29 record). Three other losses were by one score, so a winning season was certainly in their grasp. In the RMAC preseason poll, BSU was picked to finish in the 8th spot (out of 10 teams) and they had no individuals picked for pre-season all-conference honors.
The Yellow Jackets do return their starting QB Ward Anderson (2,301 yds, 10 TDs, 11 Ints), top two RBs Bryar Desanti (629 yds, 7 TDs) and Trent Butler (318 yds, 3 TDs) and most of the WR corps, although top WR Daniel Hancock (84-774-3TD) was a senior last season. Overall, they averaged 22.1 points, with 211 yards passing and 119.6 rushing. The defense lost 7 of their top 9 in tackles from a unit that allowed 290.7 yards through the air, 153.4 on the ground and 29.2 points per game.

Look for the Rams to get the 2013 season off to a great start and pull out a comfortable 35-7 win.
