LSC Week 1 Roundup


LSCScoop.com Power Poll - Week 1

  1. Texas A&M-Commerce - A win is a win, and a tough, gritty and sometimes ugly win over the returning national runner-up on the road is pretty sweet.
  2. Midwestern State - averaged 12 yards per rush, racking up 468 yards and 6 TDs on the ground and 605 total in blowout
  3. Eastern New Mexico - offense was held in check, but defense was outstanding in win over ranked Southwest Baptist
  4. Angelo State - held McKendree to 127 yards and no scores, offense racked up 441 and 42 points
  5. Texas A&M-Kingsville - sluggish offense, and 136 penalty yards bury the Javelinas
  6. Tarleton State - another sluggish offense and a couple of costly turnovers doomed the Texans
  7. West Texas A&M - Buffs acquitted themselves pretty well against ranked APU
  8. Western New Mexico - Bowie had more recieving yards than 6 LSC teams in a pretty good showing against a 2016 FCS playoff team
  9. UT-Permian Basin - struggling to come up with something positive about this one

Delta State picks off Tarleton, 34-16 - Brad Keith, The Flash Today

AFCA Poll - Lions move up to #3, MSU to #16 and ENMU and ASU are receiving votes.  Colorado State-Pueblo is #7, Azusa Pacific is #8, Sioux Falls is #9, Minnesota State is #12, Colorado Mesa is #17, Minnesota Duluth is 21 and receiving votes are Colorado School of Mines, Central Washington, Humboldt State, Bemidji State, Minnesota State-Moorhead, and Winona State.



No. 9 Belles put on clinic at home invitational - Charles Bryce, San Angelo Standard-Times
AVCA Poll - Rambelles move up to #6 and the Texanns up to #17.  Other South Central teams include #22 Colorado School of Mines and Metro State receiving votes.
