Recruiting Snapshot - Texas A&M-Kingsville

Needs - RB, DL, DB (leading RB only had 226 yds, lost 2 DTs, and DBs that had 75% of INTs)

Depth - OL, QB (OL only loses two but needs to improve, only had 3 QBs last year, all frosh and all played)

Okay - WR, LB (should return everyone at these spots)

Didn't lose many seniors, but are thin at spots and need to get better at others.

Texas A&M-Kingsville is looking for a starting RB (or maybe two or three to share the load), so Jonathan Woodson, a Scout.com 2 star recruit, and Mitchell Swan might get a chance early to contribute. On the defensive line, DTs were needed, but the best new Javelinas are DEs Ryan Deal, Steven Ogebedie and Spenser Duncan. Jonathan McCray, Zack Pate, and Cody Daniels lead a group of 7 signings to bolster the secondary that loses 3 starters. While TAMK lost only one starter on the offensive line, they got two D1 transfers in Chris Herrerra (Mississippi St) and Chris Hudgins (Missouri), plus Cisco JC transfer Chris Luckey, a first team all-SWJCFC honoree last fall. For the future, Jose Trevino and Sid Cheatham are two HS recruits ranked by Scout.com. QB Logan Morris provides depth at QB and was a first team all-SWJCFC performer for Kilgore last year. WR is not an area of immediate concern, but the Javelinas still brought in several recruits, led by Sherman Batiste, Paul Fontenot and Chandler Hill. LB is also an area where TAMK has depth, and Chris Jones will add to that.

Overall Grade B+

TAMK appears to have addressed most of their needs, and the OL looks to have received an upgrade in talent, another DT addition wouldn't hurt.
