Post Spring Break recap

Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State finished seventh and eighth, respectively, at the 2014 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The Javelinas were the top LSC men's team with 27 points, while the Rambelles recorded 19 points on the women's side to lead the league.

TAMUK's Jordan Yamoah was crowned as the pole vault champion for the second year in a row. Yamoah's mark of 5.20 meters (17-0.75) almost broke the record set by another Javelina, Matt Hickl (5.51m).

Jeron Robinson came in second place in the high jump with a mark of 2.16 meters (7-1) for the Javelinas.  He tied with first-place finisher Edward Dudley of Lake Erie but finishing second based on the number of attempts to reach the height.

Tim Price ran in the men's 200-meter dash and came in third place with a time of 21.38, while Michal Idziak finished in sixth place with a time of 1:53.07 in the 800-meter run for TAMUK.

ASU's Kearah Danville is now a back-to-back NCAA Indoor Division II Triple Jump Champion after her performance. Danville led all flights after the first go-around in the triple jump with a jump of 13.01 meters (42-8.25).  Last year the senior won the triple jump with a leap of 13.16 meters (43-2.25).

The Rambelles Jordan Gray set new career-best point total of 3,887 points to finish as the 2014 NCAA Division II Runner-up for the pentathlon.  It is Gray's second All-American honor for indoors and her second year in a row to finish runner-up in the pentathlon.

West Texas A&M's Malika Ouedraogo finished second to Danville in the triple jump with a 12.76 meters (41-10.50) effort.

Tarleton State's Chase Rathke recorded a third-place finish in the 800m by running a 1:51.78.

Eastern New Mexico's Isaiah Samoei placed third in the 5,000m with a time of 14:10.39.
