LSC Weekend Roundup and Playoff Pickems Results

Angelo State - LSC Volleyball Tournament Champions
Angelo State claimed its second straight and eighth overall Lone Star Conference Volleyball Tournament Championship with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-20) victory over Tarleton State.

The Rambelles earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA South Central Regional tournament and improved to 31-3 overall this year.

ASU hit .422 with 51 kills and only two attack errors to maintain control of the match.

Brianna Sotello led the Rambelles impressive attack with 15 kills, while Mallory Blauser, who was named tournament MVP, added 13.

Sotello and Mallory Davidson, who had a match-high 23 digs, joined Blauser on the all-tournament team.

Hailey Roberts led the TexAnns with 15 kills and Autumn Taylor added 13.  Jordyn Keamo had 29 assists and Adrianna Knutson had 17 digs.

Lions use turnovers and key scores to take first playoff win since 1991 with 34-23 victory over Colorado Mesa

The fourth-seeded Texas A&M-Commerce football team scored two touchdowns in the early stages of the third quarter to take a three-score lead and never looked back in a 34-23 win over fifth-seeded Colorado Mesa in the first round of the NCAA Division II Football Championship at Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
 
With the victory, A&M-Commerce wins an NCAA playoff game for the first time since 1991, which was also the last time the Lions hosted a postseason game in Commerce. The Lions are 2-0 all-time in the NCAA playoffs at home.
 
The Lions are now 11-1 on the season and advance to the second round of the playoffs, where they will play at the top seed in Super Region Four Grand Valley State. Kickoff against the Lakers (11-0) is set for 12 p.m. CT at Lubbers Stadium in Allendale, Mich, on Saturday, November 26...Complete release
 

No. 15 Ferris State bounces Mustangs out of playoffs

Reserve quarterback Trevor Bermingham accounted for six touchdowns to lead No. 15 Ferris State to a 65-34 win over 22nd-ranked Midwestern State in the first round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs Saturday at Top Taggart Field.
 
The Bulldogs (10-2) moves on to play host to Colorado Mines, a 63-35 winner over Southwest Baptist on Saturday, in the next week's second round.
 
MSU rode a quick start to a 20-10 lead less than a minute into the second quarter as senior quarterback Quade Coward connected on touchdown passes to Statron Jones (29) and Breion Evans (27) and rushed in from 10 yards out.
 
The Mustangs seemed to catch another break Ferris State starting quarterback Reggie Bell exited the game with an injury after he was sacked by Dontae Armstrong with 13:22 to play in the first half...Complete release
