We'd heard the rumors for a while now. On Tuesday, State Fair of Texas president Errol McKoy made it official. Texas A&M-Commerce and East Central University will play in the Cotton Bowl on October 18. McKoy said the schools have agreed to terms of a three-year deal, though a contract has not yet been signed.
Lofty Projections
McKoy is hopeful that this can have the same success as the Grambling-Prairie View rivalry.
"When we first went into Grambling-Prairie View, it was filling about 18,000, and that's what we're projecting for this game," McKoy said. "It grew to 65,000 last year, and we think the long-term potential is there for this game, too."
