LSC Roundup 4-8

2 SOSU football players arrested for assault & battery (with video)
DURANT, Okla. ― Two Southeastern Oklahoma State University football players were arrested over the weekend accused of assault and burglary at a Durant home.

Andrew Harvey, 19, and Justin Cordova, 18, were at a residence in the 700 block of North 10th Avenue just after midnight Saturday night, reportedly uninvited, when they started attacking everyone inside the residence Saturday night.

Durant police say at this time the motive appears to stem from one of Harvey’s past relationships. Two people assaulted were taken to the emergency room for head injuries.

UIW walk-on won't let goal go incomplete
Incarnate Word walk-on wide receiver Chris Maranon had already made quite an impression on his coaches in September. Dropping pass after pass will do that.

But one afternoon after Maranon let another in a long line of passes slip through his fingers, coach Mike Santiago finally had seen enough. Beside himself, Santiago turned to quarterback Eric Massoni — Maranon's high school teammate at Leander — to vent his mounting frustration.

“Is this how he did it at Leander?” Santiago yelled.

“Coach,” Massoni hesitantly replied, “he didn't really do it at Leander.”

Maranon, you see, never played as a senior in high school. He was on the team, but didn't get playing time at wideout in his only varsity season.
