LSC Football Recap - Week 10
Midwestern State 52, West Texas A&M 48
 
Midwestern State has made it habit of pulling the rabbit out of the hat this season.
 
The 10th-ranked Mustangs made its most miraculous comeback scoring two touchdowns in the final two minutes including an 18-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Marqui Christian to claim a 52-48 win over No. 12 West Texas A&M. (Click here for complete release)
 
 
Tarleton State 38, North Alabama 28 
 
Tarleton’s Jake Fenske picked up his second win as a starter for the Texans, finding Arthur Buckingham with 1:23 left to play and completing a come-from-behind victory over the North Alabama Lions, 38-28, in front of 9,067 fans at Braly Stadium in Florence, Ala. on Saturday.

The Texans fell behind 28-27 with 4:27 left to play in the game before Fenske and Buckingham hooked up for the 22-yard score. Tarleton converted a two-point conversion and Blake Barnes iced the game with a 29-yard field goal with 16 seconds left to play and give the Texans (5-4) a 10-point victory over the Lions (5-4) in a contest part of the GSC-LSC First and Ten Challenge. Abilene Christian 22, West Alabama, 16 (OT)
 
 Mitchell Gale threw for 284 yards and running back Darrell Cantu-Harkless was at his all-purpose best as Abilene Christian University turned the defensive tables on 21st-ranked University of West Alabama, upsetting the No. 21-ranked Tigers in overtime, 22-16, in Shotwell Stadium.
 
The surprising Wildcats, pitching a shutout through three quarters and limiting the Tigers to 129 total yards in the first half, survived a furious UWA rally in the fourth quarter to improve their overall record to 6-4 and drop UWA to 7-3. The game was another in the First-and-10 Challenge series between teams from the Lone Star and Gulf South conferences. Eastern New Mexico 7, A&M-Commerce 3
With Texas A&M-Commerce (1-8; LSC 2-5) holding a 3-0 lead and looking for more, Eastern New Mexico’s Jayson Serda recorded an interception at the Greyhound three-yard line. Eastern drove 97 yards, with Wesley Wood hitting Lane Wood for a three-yard touchdown, to lift the Hounds (3-6; LSC 2-5) to a 7-3 victory. Dylan Baca had a pair of punts downed at the Lion one-yard line during the second half.
 
The Hounds have not limited the opposition to less than a touchdown in any game, since the 2007 finale, which was a 52-0 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State. The Greyhounds 97-yard scoring drive was their longest drive, since JT Thompson sprinted 99 yards on the first play of a fourth-quarter possession against East Central on September 15, 2007. Angelo State 38, Incarnate Word 21
Reserve redshirt freshman quarterback Kyle Washington threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Angelo State Rams (5-5, 4-3) to a 38-21 win over the Incarnate Word Cardinals (2-8, 1-6) in a Lone Star Conference game at San Angelo Stadium.

Washington replaced senior Michael Cochran at quarterback in the first quarter and was very efficient, completing 12 of 16 passes without throwing an interception, despite losing starting receivers C.J. Akins and Dakari Pecikonis to game-ending injuries late in the first quarter. (Click here for complete release)

 
Valdosta State 38, Texas A&M-Kingsville 31
Looking for their second win of the season against a ranked opponent, the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas suffered a heartbreaking 38-31 loss to No. 24 Valdosta State Thursday night at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
 
With the game tied at 31, Blazers’ running back Cedric O’Neal scored on a 9-yard run with 37 seconds left for the deciding score.
 
The contest saw four ties and four lead changes as Kingsville dropped to 5-5 and Valdosta moved to 8-2. (Click here for complete release)
