Javelina Spring 2012 High School Signees

Andres Alaniz - A 6-1, 170-pound wide receiver from Ben Bolt, TX played at Ben Bolt High School.  He was a two-time First AP All-State, Texas Sports Writers Association All-State and All-South Texas player.  As a senior, he was also Honorable Mention All-State as a kick returner.  He led his team to three District 16A titles and was named the district MVP as a senior.  He had 84 catches for 1,854 yards as a junior and 65 catches for 1,267 yards as a senior.  He was the Built Ford Tough Week 5 Player of the Week in 2010 when he caught 17 passes for 381 yards and two touchdowns. He is the son of Joe and Melba Alaniz and plans to study Kinesiology.

Kelechi Amushie - A 6-0, 170-pound cornerback from Richmond, TX played at Terry High School.  He earned Second Team Class 4A Academic All-State and Second Team District 23-4A honors as a senior.  He was a member of the National Honor Society.  He is the son of Lawrence and Blessing Amushie and plans to study Biology.

Jose Arroyo - A 6-1, 275-pound defensive lineman from Houston, TX played at Northbrook High School.  He recorded 50 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and six sacks en route to first team all-district honors as a senior.  He is the son of Freddy and Carolina Arroyo and plans to study Engineering.

Jake Brearton - A 6-1, 270-pound offensive lineman from Corpus Christi, TX played at Calallen High School. He was named the District 31-4A Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman and Second Team All-District as a punter.  He was an Honorable Mention AP All-State Texas Sports Writers Association selection as a kicker and lineman.  He was a Padilla Coaches Poll (PCP) First Team All-State punter, PCP Second Team All-State kicker and PCP Honorable Mention All-State lineman.  He earned First Team All-South Texas Honors at lineman and Third Team honors at kicker.  He set the school record by kicking 10 field goals in 13 attempts as a senior.  He helped lead his team to two state semi-final appearances and was named academic all-district.  He was a member of the soccer and track teams.  He is the son of Mark and Cyndi Brearton and plans to study History.

Isaiah Carter - A 6-2, 215-pound defensive end from San Antonio, TX played at Madison High School.  He earned first team all-district and second team all-Area honors as a senior en route to leading his team to the State 5A semi-finals.  Heading into the state semi-final game he had 80 tackles, five sacks and four fumble recoveries.  He is the son of Kim Buabeng and Danny and Susan Carter and plans to studying Kinesiology.

Taylor Cauble - A 6-2, 215-pound defensive end from Marble Falls, TX played at Marble Falls High School.  He earned second team all-district honors as a junior.  He was named the team's Offensive Back of the Year as a senior.  He led his team to a Bi-district championship as a junior.  He was a member of the National Honor Society and an Academic All-State selection as a senior.  He is the son of Kelly and Shelley Cauble and plans to study Computer Science.

Joe Crowe - A defensive back from Houston, TX played at Aldine Nimitz High School.

Gunnar Dorsey - A 6-3, 235-pound tight end from Whitehouse, TX played at The Brook Hill School.  He was named the Most Valuable Player in the 2011 TAPPS Division III state championship game when he scored three touchdowns in a 26-3 win over Austin Regents.  He was a two-time first team all-district and All-State running back.  He was named the district MVP as a senior and averaged 9.7 yards per carry his last two years.  He rushed for 1,789 yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior.  He led the team to the state championship game as a junior.  He is also a highly decorated sprinter in track earning All-State honors as a junior.  He holds the school record in the 100 and 200 meters.  He is the son of Eric and Shannon Dorsey and plans to study Kinesiology.

Ervin Ellison - A 5-9, 160-pound wide receiver from San Antonio played at Brandeis High School.  He earned first team all-district honors with 1,016 all-purpose yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior.  He earned second team all-district honors as a cornerback his junior year when he had 54 tackles and an interception.  As a sophomore, he took home second team all-area honors after picking off six passes, scoring one touchdown and making 43 tackles.  He is the son of Enrique and Rebecca Maldonado and is undecided on his field of study.

Henry Ford - A 5-8, 191-pound running back from Huntsville, TX played at Huntsville High School.  He was named All-District 18-4A Second Team honors as a junior and First Team honors as a senior.  He rushed for 287 yards in one game and 1,139 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior.  He led his team to three playoff appearances.  He is the son of Shirley Ford and is undecided on his field of study.

Christian Garcia - A 6-5, 320-pound offensive tackle from Eagle Pass, TX played at Eagle Pass High School. He was a two-time first team all-district performer and was named the Most Outstanding Lineman as a senior.  He led his team to three playoff appearances.  He was also a state qualifier in track & field.  He is the son of Luis and Yolanda Garcia and plans to study Kinesiology.

Raymond Garza - A 6-4, 265-pound offensive lineman from Corpus Christi, TX played at King High School.  He earned first team all-district honors as a senior and helped lead his team to back-to-back playoff appearances.  He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Garza. 

Gayln Griffin - A 6-3, 195-pound defensive end from Granite Shoals, TX played at Marble Falls High School. He earned First Team All-District 25-4A honors as a senior.  He is the son of Galyn and Tara Griffin and plans to study Wild Life Management.

Cristian Guajardo - A 6-1, 280-pound offensive lineman from Hidalgo, TX played at Valley View High School.  He earned Honorable Mention All-District 32-4A honors as a senior.  He is the son of Gilberto and Armandina Guajardo and plans to study Civil Engineering.

Jeffrey Harrison - A 6-0, 174-pound athlete from Yoakum, TX played at Yoakum High School. He played quarterback, wide receiver and punter earning all-district honors at each position throughout his career.  He earned first team all-district and honorable mention all-Area as a senior quarterback.  He earned first team honors as a punter his junior year and second team honors as a wide receiver his sophomore year.  He earned Academic All-State honors as a junior.  He is the son of Lenzel and Kara Harrison and plans to study Business.

Lee Henderson - A 6-3, 249-pound offensive lineman from Cibolo, TX played at Steele High School.  He earned second team all-district honors on a State 5A Runner-Up team.  He helped his team to a state championship as a junior.  He is the son of Mitchel Henderson and is undecided on his field of study.

Jordan Holland - A 5-10, 175-pound defensive back from Missouri City, TX played at Elkins High School.  He was a two-year starter who made 71 tackles and broke up 10 passes as a senior.

Ifey Ibik - A 6-3, 290-pound defensive tackle from Sugar Land, TX played at Travis High School.  He helped lead the team to a District 23-5A championship as a senior.

Quaylon Jones - A 5-5, 168-pound running back from Universal City, TX played at Judson High School.  He was a First Team All-District 25-5A selection as a junior.  He earned First Team All-District 25-5A and Third Team All-State 5A honors as a senior after rushing for 1,649 yards and 24 touchdowns.  He rushed for 1,562 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior.  He gained over 190 yards in each of the first two games of his senior season.  He averaged over 160 yards and two touchdowns per game as a sophomore.

Miles Kirksey - A 6-0, 200-pound linebacker from Missouri City, TX played at Elkins High School.  He helped lead his two to a pair of playoff appearances.  He is the son of Melody Kirksey and plans to study Engineering.

Alex Kuyinu - A 5-10, 250-pound defensive tackle from Missouri City, TX played at Dulles High School.  He was a unanimous First Team All-District 23-5A choice as a senior.  He was also named the team MVP and Second Team All-Sun.  He helped his team to the playoffs.  He is the son of Kelly Kuyinu and Yinka Okunubi and plans to study Physical Therapy.

Max Lehnig - A 6-0, 205-pound kicker from San Antonio, TX played at Judson High School.  He took home Second Team All-District 25-5A and Honorable Mention Academic All-State honors as a senior.  During his junior year he nabbed first team all-district and second team all-area honors.  He was a three-year letterwinner in soccer as well as football.  He was a member of the National Honor Society.  He is the son of Robert and Heidi Lehnig and plans to study Pre-Engineering.

Aundra Long - A 6-4, 260-pound offensive lineman from Huntsville, TX played at Huntsville High School.  He was a two-time academic all-district and second team all-district lineman.  He was named the team's Offensive Lineman of the Year as a junior and the school's Scholar-Athlete of the Year as a senior.  He led his team to a pair of playoff appearances.  He was a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.  He is the son of Aundra and Tracy Long and plans to study Kinesiology.  His mother played basketball at Angelo State and his uncle, Fred Long, played football at Oklahoma State.

Dilyn Lyles - A 6-3, 270-pound defensive lineman from Richmond, TX played at Travis High School.  He was a unanimous first team all-district selection and was named the district's Defensive Lineman of the Year as a senior.  He helped lead his team to a district championship. He is the grandson of Jowauna Mason and plans to study Agribusiness.

Jaelin Martin - A 6-1, 164-pound free safety from San Antonio, TX played at Brackenridge High School.  He earned first team all-district honors as a senior.  He is the son of Charlie and Nicole Martin and is undecided on his field of study.

Uriel "Tre" Oliver - A 5-10, 180-pound defensive back from Pearland, TX played at Dawson High School.  He was a three-time First Team All-District 24-4A and all-County selection on defense.  He helped lead Dawson to a pair of state semi-final appearances. He is the son of Chris and Mia Griffin and plans to study Education.

Michael O'Neal - A 6-3, 280-pound offensive tackle from Cibolo, TX played at Steele High School.  He earn first team all-district honors as a senior and was a starter on the 2010 5A State Championship and 2011 State Runner-Up teams.  He is the son of Michael and Antonia O'Neal and plans to study Criminal Justice.

Shavon Pennie - A 6-0, 165-pound defensive back from Bryan, TX played at Bryan High School.

Marcus Price - A 5-5, 150-pound running back from Corpus Christi, TX played at Calallen High School.  He rushed for 1,779 yards and 23 touchdowns on 143 carries his senior year. He also had 26 catches for 445 yards and six touchdowns. He was at his most exciting on special teams where he averaged 53.7 yards per kick return, including a pair of touchdown returns in a 31-28 loss to Manvel in the state semi-finals.  He was named the Caller-Times All-South Texas Most Valuable Player.  He earned TSWA First Team All-State 4A honors as a kick returner and honorable mention honors as a running back.  His brother, Michael, played football and was an All-American in track at Texas A&M-Kingsville and his cousin, Tim, is a current track All-American for the Javelinas.

Daniel Ramirez - A 6-2, 196-pound free safety from Harlingen, TX played at Harlingen High School.  He earned honorable mention All-State and First Team Padilla Poll All-State honors as a senior.  He was a two-time first team all-district performer who was named the District Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 and the District Sophomore of the Year in 2009.  He took home First Team All-Valley honors as a senior and helped lead his team to three playoff appearances.  He was a member of the National Honor Society.  He is the son of Mike and Missy Ramirez and plans to studying Marketing and Business.

Charles Rios - A quarterback from San Antonio, TX played at McCollum High School.  He passed 1,858 yards as a junior.
Braedon Robinson - A 5-11, 275-pound defensive tackle from San Antonio, TX played at East Central High School. He was a unanimous First Team All-District 28-5A selection as a junior and was named the District Defensive MVP as a senior.  He led his team to a pair of district titles and one bi-district championship.  He is the son of Ray and Nona Robinson and is undecided on his field of study.

Joe Sikes - a 5-10, 204-pound linebacker from Lewisville, TX played at Flower Mound Marcus High School.  He was one of the Dallas Morning News' 5A Players to Watch in the Fall of 2011.

Keveon Stanton - A defensive lineman from San Antonio, TX played at Holmes High School.  He earned Second Team All-District 27-5A honors as a senior.

Mason Stewart - A 6-2, 210-pound defensive end from Houston, TX played at Memorial High School.  He earned honorable mention all-district honors as a defensive end in his sophomore and junior seasons.  As a senior, he was named first team all-district as a linebacker.  He led the team to a District 18-5A championship as a sophomore, two 5A State semi-final appearances and one quarter-final appearance.  He is an Eagle Scout and a Second Baptist JUMP Leader.  He is the son of Danny and Cristie Stewart and plans to study Mechanical Engineering.

Trey Teague - A 6-2, 320-pound defensive tackle from Freeport, TX played at Brazosport High School.  He was a two-time first team all-district and all-country offensive lineman.  As a senior, he was named second team all-district as a defensive lineman.  He is the son of James and Janet Teague and plans to study Business Management.

Jordan Thomas - A 5-11, 160-pound wide receiver from San Antonio, TX played at Stevens High School.  He had nine catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns plus an 85-yard kick return for a touchdown against MacArthur. Heading into the playoffs as a senior he had 38 catches for 688 yards and nine touchdowns. He earned 2010 Honorable Mention and 2011 First Team All-District 27-5A and 2011 second team all-Area honors.  He led his team to a State Semi-Final appearance as a junior.  He is the son of Keith Thomas and Brenda Hazzard and his brother Jovan plays for the Javelinas.

Peyton Tilley - A 6-3, 195-pound wide receiver from Leander, TX played at Leander High School.  He earned Second Team All-District 16-5A as a senior and was a three-time academic all-district selection.  He helped lead his team to a 2011 district title and three playoff appearances. He plans to study Kinesiology.

Michael Verrett - A defensive back from Houston, TX played at Sharpstown High School.

Bo Villarreal - An offensive lineman from San Antonio, TX played at McCollum High School.  He earned First Team All-District 28-4A honors as a senior.

Michael Wiser - A 6-1, 265-pound defensive lineman from Corpus Christi, TX played at Calallen High School.  During his senior season he took home Honorable Mention TSWA All-State and AP All-State honors.  He was named the district's Most Outstanding Defensive Lineman and earned First Team All-South Texas honors.  He nabbed Third Team AP All-State, Honorable Mention TSWA All-State, First Team All-South Texas and district Most Outstanding Defensive Lineman honors.  He was a second team all-district performer as a sophomore.  He was named the USAF, Max Preps and Caller-Times Player of the Week during his junior season.  He helped lead Calallen to back-to-back 4A State Semi-Final appearances.  He won the Academic Award for UIL Math and UIL Latin in addition to earning the Academic Achievement Award for three straight years.  He also competed on the track and powerlifting teams.  He is the son of Michael and Stefanie Wiser and plans to studying Business and Finance.

Javelina Spring 2012 Transfers

Bryan Ehrlich - A 6-1, 195-pound senior quarterback from Newberry College originally hails from San Antonio, TX where he played at Madison High School.  He passed for 3,172 yards and 33 touchdowns in three years, including 1,964 yards in just seven games as a sophomore.  He was named the South Atlantic Conference and D2Football.com National Player of the Week after throwing for a school-record 515 yards and a SAC-record seven touchdowns while rushing for another in a 63-56 win over nationally-ranked Tusculum in 2010.  He was named to the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll and a Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award winner.  He led Madison High School to the 5A state semifinals as a senior in 2007.  He owned the school records for touchdown passes in a game and quarter when he graduated.  He played in the San Antonio All-Star Game.  He was an academic all-district honoree and was a member of the National Honor Society and FCA.  He also lettered in baseball for three seasons.

Clyde Lee - A 6-0, 193-pound wide receiver from Boston College originally hails from Missouri City, TX where he played at Hightower High School. He played the 2009 and 2010 seasons at Boston College.  He had three receptions for 41 yards in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in 2010 and finished the season with 17 catches for 185 yards and a touchdown.  As a freshman he played in 11 games and had four catches for 40 yards.  In high school, he was a unanimous selection to the All-District 23-5A Team.  He registered 76 catches for 1,345 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior.  He played in the Space City Classic, Houston's first-ever class-wide all-star game.  He is the son of Mark and Paulette Potts and is undecided on his field of study.

Kenneth Pinkard - A 5-10, 185-pound junior defensive back from Trinity Valley CC originally hails from Dallas, TX where he played at South Oak Cliff High School.  He played 11 games in two years at TVCC and was named the NJCAA National Defensive Player of the Week on Sep. 21, 2010 after recording 10 tackles, two pass break-ups, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception in a win over Kilgore College.  He originally committed to University of Washington out of high school, but changed his mind when Tyrone Willingham left the school.

Coach Atterberry says in an interview with the Corpus Christi Caller Times (www.caller.com) that this recruiting crop may be his best ever. GO HOGS!
