LSC Roundup 8-6

Going back to college doesn't have to cost so much.

MSU all-time receptions leader signs on as free agent with Dallas Cowboys - MSU Football
OXNARD, Calif. - Former Midwestern State standout David Little inked a free agent deal with the Dallas Cowboys Sunday afternoon.  The 6-3, 185-pound receiver from Garland had participated in a rookie minicamp on a tryout basis earlier this summer for America's Team.

Little gets his break with the Cowboys desperate for help at the wide receiver position with Miles Austin suffering a tweaked hamstring and former Tarleton State wideout Saalim Hakim is out with a broken finger.  Little graduated as Midwestern's all-time receptions leader with 169 catches and was second on the all-time lists with 2,222 receiving yards and 19 TD receptions.  He is a two-time first-team All-Lone Star Conference performer and was named the league's receiver of the year after hauling in 58 receptions for 746 yards and six touchdowns helping MSU to its first unbeaten regular season in 2011.

Little is one of three former MSU standouts currently in NFL camps joining Carolina Panthers' guard Amini Silatolu, a second-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, and New Orleans Saints' wide receiver Andy Tanner.  Silatolu has been named a starter by the Panthers while Tanner is competing for a roster spot after spending much of the last two seasons on the Saints' practice squad.

The Cowboys also waived former Abilene Christian star Aston Whiteside to make room for veteran guard Derrick Dockery and Daniel Loper on Sunday.
