Kelsey, backs highlight first MSU scrimmage - J. Scott Russell, Times Record News
If the first scrimmage is any indication, the Midwestern State offense doesn't appear to have lost even one step.  The Mustangs — who led the nation in total offense last year — got a touchdown pass from Brandon Kelsey and scoring runs from Keidrick Jackson, Jimmy Pipken and Peter Smith in Thursday's intrasquad scrimmage at the MSU practice field.

"The first offense had four drives (with Kelsey) and scored on three of them," MSU head coach Bill Maskill said. "I think the second defense is ahead of the second offense and the third defense may be ahead of the third offense as well.  But overall, the offense did look ahead of the defense. For this time of the year the offense is clicking really well. I can't really comment about the defense until we watch the film. We have a lot of new guys on defense and the guys who are back have to step up."
