Due to inclement weather, the Texas A&M-Commerce football game versus Southwestern Oklahoma has been postponed until Sunday, October 24, at 2 p.m.

The West Texas A&M Buffs proved one thing Saturday - they can bounce back from a disappointing loss.
A week after falling to Texas A&M-Kingsville by getting blanked in the second half, the Buffs held off rowdy Midwestern State, 42-29, in a crucial Lone Star Conference South Division game in front of 8,324 fans at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium.
While the last few minutes featured plenty of jawing back and forth on the field - including from the coaching staffs - the game was not as close as the final score indicated.
The Mustangs scored 14 points in the final 5:55 - when the game was all but over - after the Buffs had built a comfortable 42-15 lead in the fourth quarter.
"That's what I thought (the game was over)," WT head coach Don Carthel said. "When they punted to us (with 1:57 to play), to me that is waving the white flag. Then they call timeout and hit our quarterback late. There is some bad blood there, and it showed at the end."
"We're not real good friends (with MSU)," said WT quarterback Taylor Harris, who finished 41-of-60 for 410 yards and four touchdowns with two picks and moved into second place in WT career passing yards. "(MSU) wanted to call timeouts when we kneeled it. We had to go after them again."

Throwing interceptions has not been a common occurrence for the Midwestern State Mustangs during the Zack Eskridge era.
But that changed Saturday night at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium.
Eskridge was intercepted four times and three of them were turned into touchdowns as No. 15 West Texas A&M handed the No. 13 Mustangs a 42-29 setback in front of 8,348 fans.
The loss drops the Mustangs to 6-2 for the season and 2-2 in Lone Star Conference South, while the Buffs improve to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the South. MSU entertains Tarleton State next Saturday in a 7 p.m. homecoming game.
The game really wasn’t as close as the final score indicated as WT led 21-3 at the half and 35-3 in the third period before the Mustangs finally got going.
“We made a mistake here and a mistake there and it kept adding up,” MSU head coach Bill Maskill said. “It wasn’t a good night for us. We didn’t make enough plays particularly when we really needed them. We probably didn’t play as good as we have in the past. But they’re a good team and they had something to do with that.”

Never ones to make things easy on themselves, Texas A&M-Kingsville’s Javelinas waited quite some time to put themselves in a position to prevail Saturday night.
The seventh-ranked Javelinas put together the lone scoring drive of the second half against unranked Tarleton State, waiting until their final possession to do so after two missed field-goal tries by the Texans. The Javelinas got enough production to set up Christian Brom’s 41-yard field goal with 21 seconds remaining. That allowed the Javelinas to escape Tarleton Memorial Stadium with a 13-10 Lone Star Conference South Division victory.
“Coming on the road, their homecoming, they played tough. You’ve got to take your hat off to them,” said A&M-Kingsville coach Bo Atterberry, whose Javelinas improved to 7-1, 6-1 in the LSC and 4-1 in the South. “They changed some things defensively. We didn’t make some plays. There were some game-changing plays, some penalties, this, that and the other. It was just sloppy.
“But there’s probably a lot of teams today that wish they won by three.”

The Angelo State University football team made its 2010 Homecoming game a memorable one.
The Rams gained 650 yards and scored 45 of their points in the first half en route to a 61-17 victory against Incarnate Word on Saturday at San Angelo Stadium.
It was the second-highest point total for ASU in school history and the Rams’ first Homecoming victory since 2005.
In addition to their best offensive output of the season, the Rams also intercepted two passes, had a sack and seven tackles for loss and scored on a punt return.
The win was the first in LSC South play for ASU, which improved to 3-4 overall and 1-4 in divisional play. UIW fell to 2-6 and 2-4.
“I don’t think we have played that bad in some of the games we have lost,” ASU head coach Dale Carr said. “It seems like we have just had 55 minutes of good play and five minutes of disastrous play.
“Coming into this game, I think we were one of the better 2-4 teams around. I am not that surprised. We have had a lot of players play at a high level.”
One of those players is quarterback Josh Neiswander, who threw for 385 yards, the second-highest single-game total of his career, and four touchdowns. Three ASU receivers — V’Keon Lacey, Dakarai Pecikonis and John Norcott — had at least 70 receiving yards.
Seven ASU running backs combined to run for 179 yards and three touchdowns.
“I feel like our offensive line did a great job,” Neiswander said. “And when those guys are doing well in those protection schemes, it makes my job so much easier.”

Sophomore quarterback Mitchell Gale threw for 362 yards and five touchdowns, including three to Edmund Gates, to guide No. 4 Abilene Christian past Eastern New Mexico 53-14 in a Lone Star Conference football game Saturday at Greyhound Stadium.
The Wildcats (8-0 overall, 7-0 LSC) scored on their first five drives en route to a 33-0 halftime lead. Gale, who completed 23-of-41 passes with no interceptions, sandwiched touchdown passes of 50 and 26 yards to Gates around a 45-yard touchdown pass to Kendrick Johnson in the first half.
Fullback Emery Dudensing had a two-yard touchdown run, and Ryan Owens, playing in place of the injured placekicker Morgan Lineberry, booted field goals of 52 and 35 yards in the half. The 52-yarder tied Owens with five others — including Lineberry — for the sixth-longest field goal in team history.

No. 4 Abilene Christian 53, Eastern New Mexico 14
BLACKWATER DRAW, N.M. – Sophomore quarterback Mitchell Gale kept No. 4-ranked Abilene Christian on a roll, scoring on its first five drives and building a 33-0 halftime lead on its way to a 53-14 defeat of Eastern New Mexico.
A steady west wind gusting to 40 mph through Greyhound Stadium did not deter Gale, who threw for five touchdowns for the second straight game. He totaled 362 yards through the air in just under three quarters of action while helping bring the Wildcats’ record to 8-0 and 5-0 in the South Division of the Lone Star Conference. ENMU dropped to 3-5 and 2-3 in the LSC North Division.
Gale’s TD passes went to wide receivers Edmund Gates (50, 26 and 9 yards) and Kendrick Johnson (45 and 15 yards). Senior fullback Emery Dudensing added a 2-yard scoring run, and Mookie Lewis returned an interception 11 yards for another touchdown. With placekicker Morgan Lineberry home resting an injury, sophomore Ryan Owens kicked field goals of 52 and 35 yards.
ACU rolled up 575 yards of total offense while limiting the LSC-best passing attack of the Greyhounds to 126, and 267 overall.
Northeastern State 39, Central Oklahoma 28
TAHLEQUAH, OKLAHOMA - Northeastern State reclaimed the President's Cup Trophy on Saturday with a 39-28 victory over Central Oklahoma in Lone Star North Division action at rain-soaked Wadley Stadium.
The RiverHawks remained unbeaten in LSC North action at 4-0 and improved to 5-3 overall and 5-2 in the LSC. With two games to play, Northeastern State leads East Central by one game, while Eastern New Mexico and Texas A&M-Commerce are two games behind. ECU edged Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday, while A&M-Commerce had its game with Southwestern Oklahoma postponed until Sunday afternoon due to inclement weather. ENMU lost an LSC crossover game to No. 4-ranked Abilene Christian.
Josh Lewis ran for 100 yards and a pair of TDs, while Trey McVay had six catches for 100 yards a two touchdowns to lead the RiverHawks' offense.
Central Oklahoma (2-6 overall, 2-5 in LSC and 1-3 in LSC North) staked an early 7-0 lead when Ethan Sharp engineered an 11-play, 85-yard drive on their opening series, capped by a six-yard scoring strike to Dolphin Davis.
However, the RiverHawks answered with back-to-back scoring receptions from McVay for a 15-7 lead early in the second quarter.
Josh Birmingham, who rushed 24 times for 102 yards, brought the Bronchos to within 15-14 on a 3-yard run and UCO took a 21-15 lead just 1:46 later when Creadell Pennon scooped up a fumble and raced untouched 37 yards for a 21-15 lead.
Drew Patton kicked a 21-yard field goal and Lewis scored his first TD of the game with 1:52 left in the half and Northeastern State led 25-21 at the break.
Birmingham converted a fourth down-and-seven with a 33-yard scoring jaunt early in the third quarter to put Central Oklahoma ahead 28-25. But, the RiverHawks defense stiffened and held UCO scoreless the rest of the way and Davis and Lewis provided the offensive firepower in the fourth with a rushing touchdown each for the final outcome.
Northeastern State had 428 yards of total offense, 264 of those coming through the air as Davis connected on 17-of-31 passes without an interception. UCO had 331 total yards, 105 rushing and 226 passing.
The RiverHawks will travel to play East Central next Saturday at 2 p.m. in Ada, while UCO hosts Texas A&M-Commerce.
No. 17 West Texas A&M 42, No. 13 Midwestern State 19
CANYON, TEXAS - Taylor Harris passed for 410 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 17 West Texas A&M to a 42-19 Lone Star Conference win over No. 13 Midwestern State Saturday night at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium.
The Buffs (6-2, 3-1) limited Midwestern to 56 yards of total offense after the Mustangs took their only lead of the night at 3-0 just 3 1/2 minutes into the contest.
West Texas A&M built a 21-3 halftime advantage taking a advantage of a pair of Zack Eskridge interceptions including Curtis Jefferson's 59-yard interception return for a score. That combined with a pair of Harris touchdown tosses paced Buffs to a big lead at the intermission.
Harris would add two more touchdown connections in the second half as West Texas A&M pulled away for a 35-3 lead with 3:03 remaining in the third quarter.
Eskridge finished the game with 206 yards on 20-of-43 passing with three touchdowns, but was harassed into a career-high four interceptions by the Buffs.
Midwestern State fell to 6-2 on the season and 2-2 in LSC South Division play.
No. 7 Texas A&M-Kingsville 13, Tarleton State 10
STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS - No. 7 Texas A&M-Kingsville's Christian Brom hit a 41-yard field goal with 21 seconds left to give his team a 13-10 win over Tarleton on Saturday in Stephenville.
Tarleton's Balke Wiest had a chance to hit a 44-yard field goal with 9:00 left, but he missed the kick wide right. However, a Javelina penalty moved the ball five yards closer, but Wiest missed the 39-yard attempt to keep the game at 10.
Brom started the scoring off with a 32-yard field goal with 14:28 left in the second quarter to give the visitors a 3-0 lead. The kick ended a 16-play, 64-yard drive that took 6:12 off the clock.
Tarleton took the lead on the next possession when Jamal Mays caught a 39-yard pass from Nick Stephens. A 50-yard kickoff return by Brandon Lowery put the Texans at the TAMUK 44-yardline to start the drive. Wiest's extra point made it 7-3 Tarleton with 13:31 remaining in the first half.
On the ensuing kickoff, Tarleton used an onside kick to surprise the Javelinas, and Wiest recovered the ball at the Tarleton 43-yardline. The Texan kicker then added to the Tarleton total with a 30-yard field goal at 9:57 to cap an eight-play, 44-yard drive for the Texans. Tarleton led 10-3.
On the Javelinas' next possession, the visitors drove 85 yards on 12 plays to score a touchdown when Ryan Lincoln punched the ball in from two yards out. Brom's kick tied the score at 10 with 3:19 left in the first half.
Neither team scored in the second half until the winning kick by Brom.
Tarleton had 239 yards of total offense, including 109 yards on the ground and 130 yards through the air. The Javelinas tallied 357 yards of total offense, including 222 yards passing and 135 yards rushing.
Evan Robertson had 17 carries for 78 yards to lead the Texans while Stephens was 16-of-30 for 130 yards. He threw both a touchdown and an interception. Lower had three receptions for 26 yards to lead the home team.
Jacob Rowe and Damian Perkins led the team with 14 total tackles while Brandon Johnson had 13.
Johnathon Woodson had 17 carries for 78 yards to lead the Javelinas while Nate Poppell was 23-of-39 for 222 yards. Lincoln led the team with 10 catches for 72 yards.
East Central 20, Southeastern Oklahoma 19
DURANT, OKLAHOMA – A pair of interception returns for East Central spurred the Tigers to a 20-19 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma, snapping a six-game losing streak in the rivalry, at Paul Laird Field on Saturday evening.
The game was delayed for two hours before kickoff due to lightning and storm in the area, and also featured a pair of stoppages that totaled an hour during play.
Markell Walker turned in a 100 yard interception return for a TD on a tipped pass early in the third quarter and Dontae Smith gave the Tigers the lead with 13:17 to play in the game with a 38 yard INT return.
The loss overshadowed Baylen Laury’s career rushing day in which he turned in 222 yards on 22 carries with a pair of scores. His outing was tied for the sixth best rushing day in SE history.
For ECU, Charles Opeseyitan rushed for 121 yards on 28 carries, while Tyler Vanderzee passed for 123 yards on 13-of-24 passing. He did connect with Zack Patterson for the Tigers’ lone offensive score.
For the Storm, Logan Turner tallied just 82 yard passing on 14-of-36 and threw four interceptions.
Angelo State 61, Incarnate Word 17
SAN ANGELO, TEXAS - Josh Neiswander threw for a season-high 385 yards and hit four different receivers for scores as Angelo State snapped a four-game losing skid and collected the second-highest point total in school history in a 61-17 win over Incarnate Word at San Angelo Stadium Saturday.
It was a good homecoming indeed for the Rams (3-4, 3-4 LSC, 1-4 LSC South) who notched their first Lone Star Conference South Division win, and first ever win over the Cardinals (2-6, 2-5 LSC, 0-4 LSC South) in the teams' first meeting. Neiswander completed 24-of-34 passes to move within two completions of tying ASU's career completions mark, but was lifted in the fourth quarter with the Rams ahead. The 61 points scored were second only to the 69 points scored by ASU against Fort Lewis (Colo.) in 1993.
Angelo State scored three times in the first quarter and built a commanding 45-10 lead by the half. Neiswander threw all of his touchdown passes before the break, hitting Excelle Osborne, Nate Bayless, CJ Akins and Tristan Carter. Angelo State fullback John Norcott and wildcat-back Garrett Tidwell both found the end zone on the ground in the first half.
The Rams added three more scores, a field goal, a punt return for a touchdown and another rushing touchdown in the second half to push the margin to its largest point early in the third quarter and led 65-10. Incarnate Word added a late, 44-yard touchdown run by Trent Rios to finish the scoring.
Angelo State out-gained Incarnate Word 650-to-270, including a 471-to-136 advantage in passing yards. The Rams were four yards shy of tying the school's single game record. V'Keon Lacey was the Rams leading receiver with eight catches for 96 yards. Michael Connor led ASU with 59 yards on 14 carries in his first major action of the season.
Rios' late scamper helped him to a game-high 76 yards rushing for Incarnate Word. Dominic Hamilton caught six passes for 91 yards and a score in the second quarter. Paden Lynch led the Cardinals by completing 10-of-18 passes for 73 yards.
Angelo State will travel to league-leading Abilene Christian next weekend for the State Farm Big Country Concho Valley Shootout. The Cardinals continue Lone Star Conference South Division play against West Texas A&M on homecoming in San Antonio.
