LSC Scoop Recruiting Spotlight - Chris Frazier

Today we have Chris Frazier in the LSC Scoop Recruiting Spotlight. Chris played linebacker for the Cisco Wranglers this past two season, after redshirting in 2010.  He racked up 41 tackles with 4 tackles for losses and a sack,  and was named 2nd team All-SWJCFC.  On their own, those numbers are solid, and they are more impressive considering he played QB in high school at Dallas Skyline (where he threw for almost 800 yards and rushed for 400 as a senior, and was Scout's #100 QB prospect in the nation).  He was ranked a two star recruit by both Scout and Rivals.  Chris is a redshirt freshman and will be ready to move to an NCAA school for the fall semester.

Scoop - Chris, what an outstanding season. What will you remember most from last year?
Chris - I became more comfortable with and really understood the defensive side of the ball.

Scoop - Tell us a little bit about recruiting. When did scouts start coming around? Was it ever a distraction?
Recruiting has had its ups and downs, but for the most part, it will have a good outcome (I've had a few D2 and D1 schools come around).   It never becomes a distraction, it provides motivation to strive to get better.

Scoop - Who are the schools interested in you?
Midwestern State, ACU, Arkansas-Monticello, SMU, Kentucky Western, U OF H, AND POSSIBLY TCU

Scoop - What schools are you most interested in?
MSU, Tarleton, ACU, SMU,TCU, U OF H

Scoop - How big of a role do academics play in your decision? Have you decided on a major?
YES, academics plays a big role.  I am looking for a good school with an environment that will help me continue to learn.  I am a Criminal Justice major.

Scoop - What strengths do you have that will help you be successful at the next level?
I'm very physical and mentally tough.  I've always been a hard working athlete, so my skills and talents have come from that hard work.

Scoop - Who are your role models, or the people that have helped you get where you are today?
My present coach has had a major impact on me.  I'v learned a lot of things since I've been here in a short amount of time.   Without a doubt, he has prepared me for the next level and to carry on from there.

Scoop - Any advice for guys that will be going through this process in the next year or two?
Grades are the major factor to your success and the key to moving on the next level.

Scoop - Thanks Chris.  Best of luck to you and we hope to see you playing LSC ball for the next few years.
