A&M-Kingsville Athletic Director Turns in Resignation

From KRISTV - Tyler Garrett
KINGSVILLE - On Wednesday morning Texas A&M-Kingsville Athletic Director Ken Oliver informed his staff that he was resigning, effective June 15th. KRISTV was the first to report his resignation.
Oliver, who spent the last three years at the helm in Kingsville, has accepted a Vice President position at Central Methodist University where he began his professional tenure in 1999 as the recruiting coordinator, assistant football/track coach and instructor of physical education.
The official announcement will not be made until Thursday morning.
FAYETTE, MO. (Missouri Sports Magazine) – It may be a new position, but Central Methodist University’s first Vice President for Institutional Growth and Student Engagement will not be a new face when he starts work in mid-June. Ken Oliver, a CMU alumnus, seasoned administrator and former athletics coach at the University, has been appointed by President Marianne E. Inman.

One of Oliver’s new responsibilities will be to head the Central Methodist athletic department. She made the announcement and introduced – or more accurately, reintroduced – Oliver to the campus community and CMU governing board this past week.

“I believe CMU is one of the best private universities in the Midwest, and I am excited to be part of a university that is on the move,” Oliver said. “I’m humbled and honored they would consider me for the position, and I’m excited about the direction in which we’re headed.”
