LSC Scoop Track Rankings - Regular Season Finale

This is based on top performances during the 2012 outdoor track season.  We'll find out this weekend how accurate they are.

Men - with change from last week's score

1. Texas A&M-Kingsville - 187.25 (-4.08)
2. Abilene Christian - 153.5 (-2)
3. Angelo State - 150(-2)
4. West Texas A&M - 97 (+10.50)
5. Incarnate Word - 75.5 (+5)
6. Eastern New Mexico - 74.5 (+2.50)
7. Texas A&M-Commerce - 55.25 (-2.08)
8. Tarleton State - 32 (-4.50)

This is setting up for a great three way battle for the LSC title.  ACU has the top performances in 7 events, while ASU has 5 and TAMK has 4.  But TAMK's depth (36 scoring performances to 30 for ASU and 27 for ACU) appear to give the Javelinas the edge over the Wildcats and Rams.  As is the case with all predictions, once the meet begins, you can throw all of this out the window.  The Buffs appear to be the best of the rest, while ENMU and UIW are tight for 5th, and TAMC should win the battle to stay out of the cellar by a fairly comfortable margin.

Another three way battle for the top.  Angelo State (especially strong in the field events) has 6 top scores and 30 scoring performances, while West Texas A&M slipped past ACU last weekend and just 2 top scores, but 36 scoring performances.  ACU is just the opposite, racking up 9 top scores (including 7 in running events) and just 23 scoring performances.  There should be a spirited battle for the 4th thru 7th spots.  TAMK with just one top score, but 18 scoring performances seems to have the edge.  TSU has two tops socres and 13 scoring performances, while UIW has 15 scoring performances and  TAMC has 12.  ENMU (with a couple of 4th place performances on the list) had a big weekend last week and could escape the cellar.  MSU has just 4 scoring performances all in long distance and the steeplechase (which reflects the limited scope of their team), strong performances in those events could be enough to edge them past the Zias.
