PORTALES, N.M.— Eastern New Mexico University has received an official invitation from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Committee to join their conference effective the fall term of 2012. The Institution has been a member of the Lone Star Conference for the past 25 years.
Eastern New Mexico’s President Steve Gamble has appointed the University’s Athletic Committee to study the feasibility of changing conference affiliation. Joining this committee will be two head coaches, two members of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and a member of the Bench Club Board of Directors. Dr. Jeff Geiser, Director of Athletics, will be ex-officio. Input from Alumni and community is invited. The committee will make a recommendation to President Gamble and the Board of Regents by March 31st.
