Avery Patterson (27 pts) and Jeffery Henfield (18 pts) led the Texans, who suffer their first defeat of the season. Nate Perry (23 pts) was one of four Bulldogs to score in double digits. Other good ones:
Also #21 Central Oklahoma (4-1) will travel to unbeaten Angelo State (3-0) and Abilene Christian (3-0) and give the Rams and Wildcats an early chance to prove they can contend in the South. UCO playing well despite Sam Belt (14.4 ppg) not really hitting his stride yet. Denell Stephens (16.3 ppg, 7.7 reb pg, 4.0 steals pg) and Quinn Barfield (14.3 ppg) have lead Angelo State while waitng for Marcus Hubbard to get healthy. For Abilene, its been Brandon Callahan (14.7 ppg, 5.0 asst pg, 2.7 steal pg) and Kejan Sencanski (13.7 ppg, 6.0 reb pg) leading them early on. Marcus Hubbard made his debut for ASU and scored 16 pts and pulled down 7 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as UCO wins 78-69. Sam Belt (20 pts, 8 rebs) and Eric Cazenave (18 pts, 7 rebs) led the Bronchos. UCO shot 48 free throws to only 29 for ASU.
Saturday afternoon, ACU almost overcame a 10 point deficit, missing a free throw that would have tied the game with 4 seconds to play. David Thomas had 24 pts and 7 rebs to lead the Bronchos, and Sam Belt added 19 pts and 10 rebs. Callahan had 25 pts to lead all scorers. UCO knocked two teams from the unbeaten ranks this week.

James Reynolds (13.0 ppg) and Terrell Carpenter (12.5 ppg, 5.5 asst pg) lead the Tigers, while Wendell Mulkey (13.7 ppg, 5.3 asst pg, 4.3 steal pg,) and Juan Lanauze (12.7 ppg, 7.0 reb pg, 1.3 blk pg) are pacing the Javelinas. TAMK soph Dominick Jones led all scorers with 17, and was one of 5 Javelinas in double figures. Wendell Mulkey had 12 pts, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.
