After a surprising loss in the opening week against Colorado State-Pueblo, the Greyhounds got their season back on track. After a blowout of Southwestern Oklahoma and a 2 point loss to Southeastern Oklahoma, they shattered multiple team and conference records in a 76-56 shootout win against Texas A&M-Commerce. However, riding a wave of momentum wasn't enough to prevent ENMU from losing six straight games and going winless in the LSC South. The Greyhounds were able to muster up enough to win their final game of the season over Incarnate Word 35-30, completing an up and down 3-8 season.
ENMU's final statistics on the year ended up similar to their offensive playcalling - completely one sided. The Greyhound offense was superb, averaging 34 points (2nd in the LSC) and 511 yards per game (1st). But their defense had major issues. They gave up 37.5 points (13th) and an astounding 472 yards (13th).

The Greyhounds will lose 2 of their best defensive players in LB Edward Zamora (2nd LSC South, 102 Tackles, 10 TFL, 1.5 sacks) and Safety Texavier Henry (2nd LSC South, 122 Tackles, 4 INT). A huge hole will also be left due to the loss of QB JJ Harp (HM LSC South, 4,373 Passing Yds, 31 TD).
Welcome Back
ENMU will have a solid stable of WR's coming back from last year's record setting team. Jesse Poku (1st LSC South, 63 catches for 830 yds, 9 TD's), Arvin Jackson (HM LSC South, 73 catches for 848 yds, 5 TD's), Chase Kyser (49 catches for 417 yds, 4 TD's) and Darian Dale (52 catches for 537 yards, 4 TD's) all return to give Wes Wood plenty of targets. Troy Harris was last season's leading rusher for the Greyhounds with 289 yds and 6 TD's. The offensive line will also have experience in returners Adam Robinson and Karlton Graves at tackle, TJ Cleavinger and Mark Pena at guard, and Ryan Torres at center.
On the defensive side of the ball, pre-season All-American CB Rodney Mitchell (72 tackles, 7 INT) returns and will get help in the secondary from safety Tillman Stevens (44 tackles, 2 TFL, 3 INT). The linebacking corps will be lead by Nathan Uland (132 tackles, 18 TFL, 3 sacks) and Devin Sweet (41 tackles, 4 TFL). The defensive line also has experienced players coming back. DE Matt Kalisch (52 tackles, 11 TFL, 5 sacks),
DT Bracy McCoy (25 tackles, 2 TFL) and DT Wes Byrd (28 tackles, 6 TFL, 1.5 sacks) will anchor the ENMU defensive line.
In with the new
Joseph Henry will see some time at defensive end as a true freshman after garnering all-state accolades last season. Greg Scott may also see some playing time at WR as a true freshman and the Greyhounds are very excited about what he brings to the field

September 4 @ Angelo State - If ENMU wants to take a step forward and make some waves this season, an early season win against a good team like Angelo State would do exactly that.
September 25 vs Texas A&M-Commerce - The Hounds get the Lions at home in a game that might decide who wins the North division.
Best Case Scenario 8-3
Games against Midwestern State, ACU and Tarleton would be really difficult for ENMU to pull off. But there's not another game on their schedule that they wouldn't either be favored or close to being favored in.
Worst Case Scenario 4-7
The only way this happens is if the Greyhounds don't get the kind of production they are hoping from QB Wes Wood. ENMU's success is so heavily dependent on the passing offense, the entire season will crumble if they dont get above-average QB play.
