Game Day Media

Brief Game Previews
Texas A&M-Kingsville at West Texas A&M - 5:00
Two teams coming off disappointing losses last week - the Javelinas by one point to Angelo State and  the Buffs in the Wagon Wheel game.  To make matters worse, both teams had second half leads.  On paper, this looks a good matchup, with two of the top defenses in the LSC and prolific quarterbacks on the offensive side.  It could come down to which teams runs the ball better, and the Javelinas have the edge there.

Oklahoma Panhandle State at Angelo State - 6:00
Aggies struggling to get an LSC win before departing the league.  They continue to move the ball well through the air, but struggle on defense.  ASU's offense isn't setting the world on fire, but the defense has been pretty good.

Western New Mexico at Tarleton State - 7:00
Matchup featuring two solid but under the radar QBs.  Javia Hall (1,118 yds, 12 TDs) for WNMU and Zed Woerner (1,078 yds, 12 TDs) for Tarleton.  Xavier Ayers (LSC best 35-556, 7 TDs) is the leading target for Hall, but Woerner has dual threats in Bubba Tandy (22-381, 5 TD) and Del Michael High (19-356, 4 TD).  With both defenses at the bottom of the league, this sets up for good ol' shootout.

Eastern New Mexico at UT Permian Basin - 7:00
Just a couple of things for this game.  The Greyhounds will put up big numbers running the ball, and the Falcons will still be looking for their first D2/LSC win after the game.

Game of the Year
#7 Midwestern State at #4 Texas A&M-Commerce - 7:00

While this is obviously a big game, it's not a do or die contest.  Whoever does not win still has a great shot at an NCAA playoff slot, as long as they win the remaining games on the schedule. The winner will have the inside track to the LSC title, and possible undefeated regular season, which should lead to a first round bye and home field for the NCAA playoffs.

How the teams stack up
Rushing - MSU 210, TAMC 150 - Edge Mustangs
Passing - MSU 226, TAMC 315 - Edge Lions
Rush D - MSU 165 , TAMC 148 - Push
Pass D - MSU 232, TAMC 230 - Push
Scoring - MSU 37, TAMC 40.5
Scoring D - MSU 23.8, TAMC 21.8

As you can see, the teams are pretty even statistically.  Here's how they fared against common opponents

TAMK - MSU won 32-30, coming from behind to win late.  MSU outgained TAMK 437-419.  TAMC won 38-36, but were outgained 564-350.

OPSU - MSU won 42-24. but trailed 24-21 in third quarter, MSU outgained OPSU 446-467.  TAMC won 35-13, taking a 35-0 lead into the half.  They outgained the Aggies 561-262.

This has the makings of a classic, with a break here or there giving the winner the edge.
