Greyhounds defeat the Alumni Team at Alumni Bowl II

Blackwater Draw, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University football defeated the Alumni team 27-0 in Alumni Bowl II on Saturday, April 26, at Greyhound Stadium. The game marked the end of spring practice for the Greyhounds.
The Hounds started out strong with an eight-play 81-yard scoring drive that was capped off with a 33-yard touchdown pass from Carl Bouldin (Fr., QB, San Antonio, Texas/Judson HS) to Juston Campos (Fr., WR, Lubbock, Texas/Coronado HS). The Alumni team recorded its best drive of the day in the first quarter, going 64-yards in six plays before being stopped on downs at the twelve yard-line.
Bouldin threw his second touchdown pass of the game to begin the second quarter when he connected with Joesph Banyard from 11-yards out for a 14-0 score. With 3:28 left in the first half, Bouldin tossed his final touchdown of the game when he hit Michael Beach for a six-yard score to give the present Greyhounds a 21-0 going into the intermission.
In the third quarter JT Thompson (So., SS, Sweetwater, Texas/HS) scooped up a lateral pass by Peter Juve (Alumni, QB, Eagle Pass, Texas/Eagle Pass HS) and returned it 35-yards for the final touchdown of the game. Michael Benton (Alumni, WR, Everman, Texas/Joe C. Bean HS) shined for the Alumni team with 102 receiving yards, including a highlight reel worthy one-handed catch in the first half.
The Greyhounds will open the 2008 campaign on Saturday, August, 30 when they travel to Bethany, Oklahoma, to take on Southern Nazarene University.
