Tarleton loses another coach

Morningsun.net

Tarleton State Offensive Coordinator Dave Wiemers is leaving the Texans after one year as OC to return to Pittsburg State and is expected to be named defensive coordinator.

Wiemers was a GA at PSU in the early 90's, followed by 5 year stint at Saginaw Valley as DC, and 8 years at Emporia State, the last 6 as Head Coach. He led the Hornets to a Mineral Bowl victory over Winona State in 2002, and a playoff spot in 2003 where ironically they lost to Winona State. His teams compiled a 35-32 record in his six seasons.

In his one season at Tarleton, the Texans offense averaged 37.2 pts and 452 yds a game (176 rushing, 276 passing) all fourth in the LSC.
