Richardson named a Daktronics All-South Central Region first teamer
Nolan Richardson became the second player in Midwestern State history to garner Daktronics' All-South Central Region first-team honors Tuesday by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Richardson joins South Central Region Player of the Year Matt Rogers and D'Ante Harris of Southwest Baptist (Mo.), Central Missoui's Sanijay Watts, Central Oklahoma's Lance Harper on the first team while Emporia State's Lamar Wilbern, Angelo State's Lionel Brown, Nebraska-Omaha's Michael Jenkins, Tarleton State's Eric Williams and Northwest Missouri's Hunter Henry comprise the second team.

UCO’s Brenner named to All-Regional Team
Central Oklahoma standout Lizzie Brenner has been named a first-team selection on the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-South Central Regional Team, it was announced Tuesday.

Joining Brenner on the elite five-player first-team unit were Player of the Year Emily Brister of West Texas A&M, Britney Jordan of Texas A&M-Commerce, Ida Edwards of Emporia State and Janice Bright of Washburn. Each member of the eight first-team all-region squads advances to the All-America ballot.

Destiny Brown (Southeastern Oklahoma), Audrey Maxwell-Lively (Abilene Christian) and Renee Renz (Texas Woman's) were named to the second team.

WBCA Announces Finalists for NCAA Division II State Farm Coaches’ All-America Basketball Team
The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), in cooperation with State Farm, announced the finalists for the 2009 State Farm Coaches’ All-America Basketball Team for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II. The 41 finalists, who are voted upon by WBCA member coaches in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team.

COMMERCE, Texas – Four years ago, Britney Jordan walked away from the game she loved. A 2003 McDonald's All-American who played at Temple University, Jordan had lost her spirit for the sport. Her life had spiraled out of control. There was little chance she would return to the game. She was out of school, out of work and quickly running out of options.

That's when Texas A&M-Commerce coach Denny Downing reached out in the hope of getting her back in basketball.

Javelinas knock off No. 19 Cardinals
Less than a month after losing to Incarnate Word 13-6 at home, the Texas A&M-Kingsville baseball team went to Sullivan Field and knocked off the 19th ranked team in the nation, 10-3 on Tuesday night.

LCU beats Buffs
Lubbock Christian scored seven runs in the second inning and roughed up West Texas A&M pitching for 24 hits in a 15-0 victory in nonconference college baseball action Tuesday before 75 fans in the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa

Softball News
Lady Buffs get swept
Unbeaten Lubbock Christian swept West Texas A&M in nonconference softball Tuesday in Lubbock. LCU (20-0) won the opener, 3-2, and rolled in the nightcap, 9-0.

The second game was the first time this season that WT (17-7) was shut out.

MSU suffers first sweep at home
Central Oklahoma took advantage of a pair of Midwestern State errors in the first inning, then cruised to a 8-2 win in Game 2 as the Mustangs suffered their first ever sweep at Mustangs Park Tuesday afternoon.

ACU sweeps doubleheader
Moving up a doubleheader against Incarnate Word had no ill effect on Abilene Christian.

Javelinas softball takes two from Blue Tigers
The Texas A&M-Kingsville softball team picked up a pair of non-conference victories on Tuesday afternoon defeating Lincoln University, 9-1 and 7-3 at Hubert Field.
