With the sound of pads hitting all around him, Angelo State University head coach Dale Carr observed the first intrasquad scrimmage for his football team at San Angelo Stadium on Wednesday night. Afterward, he felt like he had plenty to smile about - the main reason being that the Rams came out of the scrimmage injury-free.
Less than a week into preseason workouts, the Rams went head-to-head against themselves for the first of two such scrimmages. The Rams have clearly put the memories of a 2-8 season in 2007 behind them and are out to make Carr's fourth season a winning one.
"The biggest difference is that we have more people healthy," Carr said.
