A pattern is developing. Every other year, West Texas A&M is set at quarterback.
In 2004, it was senior Derek Maupin.
In 2006, it was senior Dalton Bell.
In 2008, it's senior Keith Null.
Under Bell's junior leadership, WT in '05 won the first of three straight Lone Star Conference championships.
Last year, Null took over for Bell and won 10 of 11 starts. He threw for 4,134 yards and 41 touchdowns, both WT records. He beat LSC rival Abilene Christian, 41-31, in Abilene despite playing the final 2½ quarters on a rolled right ankle.
