- Abilene Christian (1) - Still on top for now, doesn't get any easier the rest of the way.
- Midwestern State (5) - best big game performance in a while.
- Tarleton State (3) - Struggled at Blackwater Draw to put away pesky Greyhounds.
- Texas A&M-Kingsville (2) - need to bounce back quickly.
- Angelo State (4) - Neiswander back on track with 341 yds and 3 TDs.
- West Texas A&M (8) - this is the WT team we expected at beginning of season.
- Southeastern Oklahoma (6) - two first half turnovers put Storm in a bad spot.
- Texas A&M-Commerce (7) - defense clamped down in second half - no drive longer than 18 yards.
- Eastern New Mexico (9) - Wood threw for 320 yds and 3 TDs, but also had 4 Ints.
- Northeastern State (10) - could not get closer than 8 in second half.
- Central Oklahoma (11) - didn't put Bulldogs away until 4th quarter.
- East Central (12) - turned 3 turnovers into 17 points and led by 11 in third quarter.
- Southwestern Oklahoma - led 14-0 in the first, and was within 4 in the fourth period.
Top Team Performance - Midwestern State
The Mustangs were dominant in their victory over previously undefeated Texas A&M-Kingsville. MSU jumped out to a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter, and never looked back, beating the Javelinas 38-7. The offense gained 457 yards against a defense that had been allowing just 285, while the defense limited the LSC's second ranked offense to just 286 yards and 7 points, 166 yards and 27 points under their average coming into the game.
Top Team Offensive Performance - Central Oklahoma
The Bronchos piled up 574 yards of offense, in defeating Southwestern Oklahoma 41-23. Brandon Noohi rushed for 146 yards and 3 TDs and threw for 270 yards and two more TDs to lead UCO to the win. Jason Palmer also had 136 of UCO's 304 yards on the ground. All 6 of the Broncho's TD drives were 50 or more yards.
Top Team Defensive Performance - West Texas A&M
The Buffaloes held the #1 Abilene Christian Wildcat offense to just 301 yards and 21 points, 118 yards and 15 points below their season average. In the fourth quarter, on ACU's last three possessions, WT got an interception, forced a three and out, and ended the game with three consecutive sacks.
Top Offensive Performance - Zack Eskridge, Midwestern State
Junior Eskridge completed an unbelievable 24 of 25 passes for 245 yards and 2 TDs, and added 17 yards and another TD rushing. Eskridge led the Mustangs to scores on 6 of their first 7 posessions.
Top Defensive Performance - Calvin Fance, Angelo State
Fance, a senior defensive lineman out of Jersey Village, had 8 tackles, including 5 sacks totalling 35 yards in losses. For the season, Fance now has 13 sacks, which leads division II and is the second best season mark in Angelo State history.
Top Special Teams Performance - Joe Kok, Northeastern State
Senior Joe Kok, averaged 42.8 yards on 5 punts. Early in the game, Kok was especially effective, pinning the Bearcats inside their 14 yard line three times, including inside the 1, early in the second quarter. For the season, Kok leads the LSC with a 43.0 average and is the only punter above 40.
