Final LSC Scoop Power Poll and team report cards

Now that all LSC Football teams have concluded their 2010 football seasons, we will give our final ranking and grade each team. Team grades are based on our preseason expectations. Teams that met expectations will receive a grade in the B range. Teams that exceeded expectations rate an A, while teams that did not meet expectations will receive a C, D, or F.

Preseason ranking in first parentheses, Grade in second

  1.  ACU (2) - (A-) - Great regular season, but a disappointing loss to Central Missouri at home in NCAA playoffs.  ACU scored 40+ points in 8 games, with a season low of 31.
  2. TAMK (3) - (A) - overcame loss of several key players to win 10 games and battle NW Missouri down to the wire.  Two losses by a total of 11 points to top 3 teams.
  3. WTAM (1) - (B+) - played a tough schedule and made the playoffs again, but only went 2-4 vs. winning teams, and winless vs. playoff qualifiers.
  4. MSU (5) - (A-) - Did not defeat a team with a winning record and squeaked by some lesser teams, but still won 8 games, for 11th consecutive winning season.
  5. ASU (7) - (A-) - Loss to Tarleton puzzling, but played LSC postseason qualifiers very tough.
  6. ECU (12) - (A+) - Were a missed FG away from a possible undefeated run through the LSC North.
  7. NSU (13) - (A+) - Mentioned in playoff talks (briefly) for the first time in 10 years.
  8. ENMU (9) - (B) - Did not find the LSC North as easy as expected.  However they did beat an LSC South team for the first time since
  9. TSU (4) - (D) - Instead of competing for a playoff spot, the Texans stumbled out of the gate, losing their first four games, and finished the year with a 3-8 record.
  10. UIW (11) - (B-) - All three wins came against LSC North teams.  Outscored in LSC South by 18.5-46.7 average margin.
  11. SOSU (8) - (C-) - Savage Storm finish with a disappointing 3-8 record, and their two LSC North wins both took OT.
  12. SWO (14) - (A) - When does 3-8 translate into an A?  When the possibility a zero win season was not out of the question back in August.
  13. TAMC (6) - (D-) - The LSC North preseason favorite had a wildly inconsistent year that had many more downs than ups, resulting in a 3-8 season.
  14. UCO (10) - (D+) - A good offense could not overcome the LSC's worst defense, as the Bronchos end their stay in the LSC losing their last six games, and an overall 2-9 record.
