McNair Jr. to sign with Midwestern State - Associated Press Report, Times Record News
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Steve McNair Jr. is taking his talents to Texas, where he will continue his college football career at Midwestern State.
McNair, son of the late Steve McNair, spent the past two seasons at Pearl River Community College, where he was impressive on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. He made 69 catches for 727 yards and three touchdowns, while compiling 43 tackles, one sack and four interceptions for the Wildcats.
Feazell says Midwestern State has made it clear they plan to use McNair solely on offense. Attempts to contact McNair were unsuccessful.
(Scoop note - According to Scout.com, McNair had offers from Southern Mississippi, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Tulsa, and West Virginia coming out of high school. He was rated a 3 star recruit, and the #109 WR prospect in 2010 by Scout, a 3 star recruit and the #68 WR prospect by Rivals, while ESPN rated him the #79 WR prospect)

Nelson Haggerty lost half of his players and 75 percent of the scoring off
last season's Elite Eight basketball team.
"We lost a lot of everything," is the way Hag put it, pointing out that his four top forwards from last year are gone.
So the Midwestern State basketball coach had some tough offseason personnel decisions to make in his quest to keep the Mustangs at the top of the Lone Star Conference and the South Central Region.
Haggerty decided not to bring Anthony Harris back for his senior year. The 6-7 230-pounder definitely had game, but he also was a huge headache for the first-year head coach, who suspended him twice last year.
Former Burkburnett star Aaron Thompson had left Sam Houston State and was on the Division II market. Haggerty flirted with the 6-9 transfer but saw him as a perimeter forward who couldn't provide the rebounding and defense that MSU wanted.
So Haggerty hit the recruiting trail and signed one Division I transfer, four junior college transfers and one freshman. (Click here for the list of the signees)
