defense that made the difference.
After missing a field goal that might have iced the game with 1:55 to play,
No. 9 West Texas A&M had to rely on its defense one last time to preserve a
wild, 49-42, NCAA Division II first-round victory against No. 8 Central
Washington in front of 6,795 fans on a cool but sun-splashed afternoon at
Kimbrough Memorial Stadium.
