No. 3 Midwestern State back in national quarterfinals after 5-0 win over Fort Lewis
Kyle Kmiec and reserve striker Nick Auditore each had two goals each as No. 3 Midwestern State cruised to a 3-0 win over No. 2 Fort Lewis in the second round of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship Saturday night at the MSU Soccer Field.

The Mustangs (19-2) advance to face No. 9 California State-Dominguez Hills, a 4-0 winner in the West Region Final earlier Saturday over California State-Los Angeles in the NCAA Division II national quarterfinals.
Women's Soccer: A&M-C Advances to Sweet 16 with 2-0 Win Over Central Missouri

Senior Melissa DoRemus scored and assisted on another goal as the Texas A&M University-Commerce women's soccer team defeated host No. 9 Central Missouri, 2-0, in the NCAA Second Round on Sunday afternoon in Warrensburg, Mo.

DoRemus settled the ball and flicked it to junior Whitney Hancock, who knocked it in the 75th minute to put the Lions in front by a 1-0 margin.

The Mesquite, Texas native added an insurance goal in the 81st minute after a pass from Lasley. She went from the left side just outside the box and lofted a shot over CMU goalkeeper Lauren Bamvakais head to extend the margin to 2-0.

The Lions offensive attack out shot the Jennies by 12-to-9 margin, including a 7-to-1 difference in shots on goal. The defense for the Lions was inflexible against a Central Missouri attack that had outscored its opponents by a 36-to-12 margin on the season.

A&M-Commerce junior goalkeeper Taylor Jordan recorded her sixth shutout of the season and lowered her goals-against average to 0.71. The Argyle, Texas native has allowed just one goal in the last 414:28.

The win raises the A&M-Commerce record to 16-3-3 in 2008 and the 16 wins match the 1999 team, who was the last A&M-Commerce women's soccer team to reach the Sweet 16, for the most wins in a single season.

The Lions advance to the Sweet 16 and will face Truman, who defeated Washburn by a 1-0 margin in the other regional. The two teams will be joined by the two advancing teams from the West Region for a pair of matches Friday (Nov. 21) and the NCAA Quarterfinal on Sunday (Nov. 23). Official word regarding site location and game times will be announced on Monday.
