Beckley Named Earns All-America Recognition - UCO Sports
ATLANTA, Ga. (March 22) – Central Oklahoma standout Ashley Beckley has been named an honorable mention pick on the NCAA Division II State Farm Coaches' All-America Team as selected by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).
Beckley is just the third UCO player to earn Division II All-America recognition, joining Ton'Nea Cox (1992 and '93) and Lizzie Brenner (2009), who were also honorable mention selections.
The lone senior on the team, Beckley enjoyed a phenomenal season in leading the Bronchos to a surprising 22-10 record that included runner-up finishes in the Lone Star Conference North Division, the LSC Tournament and the NCAA Division II South Central Regional as UCO advanced to the Sweet 16 for just the second time.
Beckley averaged an LSC-best and school-record 19.5 points a game while adding 8.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.0 steals. She shot 47.2 percent from the field and 76.2 percent from the line, scoring in double figures all 32 games.
The LSC North Division Player of the Year, Beckley was also a first-team Daktronics All-South Central Regional pick and made the all-tournament teams at the LSC and regional tournaments.
Beckley set single-season school records for points (623), free throws made (199) and free throws attempted (261) while also establishing career marks for free throws made (479) and attempted (698). She finished second in three other career categories at UCO – points (1,627), field goals made (573) and field goals attempted (1,175).
Adamson named 2011 NCAA Division II All-American honorable mention - TSU Sports
ATLANTA - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association teamed up with State Farm to announce their 2011 NCAA Division II Coaches' All-America team on Tuesday and named Tarleton junior guard Shelby Adamson to the honorable mention squad.
Adamson led the TexAnns during the 2010-11 season to their first ever Lone Star Confernce South Division title, as well as trips to the LSC and South Central region tournaments. The Rockwall native averaged 16.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.1 steals, and 3.8 assists per game.
She also led the nation in free throws attempted with 263 and finished second in free throws made with 212 conversions. Both of those totals shattered school records as well.
Besides being named All-American honorable mention in 2011, Adamson also received All-LSC tournament and regular season first team honors. She was also named the Academic Player of the Year in the South Division and to the second team in the South Central region. Earlier in the year, Adamson was named to the All-Region academic team as well.

LSC SOFTBALL Weekly Release - LSC Office
Lone Star Conference action continues this week. In the North, Midwestern State holds the top spot at 5-1, with Southeastern Oklahoma right behind them at 4-2. Angelo State and Abilene Christian lead the South with identical 5-1 marks.
LSC softball teams are 246-156-2 overall, with a 136-87-1 record in the South and 110-69-1 in the North this season. The squads are currently 73-31 combined versus Heartland Conference squads and 37-31 against the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, which are the other two conferences in the NCAA South Central Region.

· West Texas A&M junior center fielder Kim LeComte broke the LSC career home run record with her 40th and 41st career bombs on Saturday to surpass former Angelo State standout Macy Baker’s 39.
· Texas Woman’s stole 32 bases on 35 attempts in five games led by freshman Bailey Vrazel (17-for-17). She leads the team and LSC with 41-for-41 stolen bases on the season.
· Cameron’s Carrie Harvey became the Aggies single-season strikeout leader with 187 on the season, to best Crystal Smith’s 2003 mark of 179.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
NORTH HITTER
Kelsy Hebert, Cameron University, R-FR, P/2B, Lawton, Okla., MacArthur HS
Hebert lead the Aggies this week in a series victory over LSC North foe Central Oklahoma. Hebert, who has been used primarily as the No. 2 pitcher behind senior Carrie Harvey this season, got her infield game going with a pair of appearances at second base on Friday and Saturday. She provided the big offensive spark the Aggies needed on both days, knocking in five runs including a grand slam in the fifth inning of the rubber game, the deciding points of the 7-5 CU victory. Her homer in the first game was the second insurance run of the Aggies’ 2-0 victory. Hebert also provided pace in the circle as she picked up her fourth win of the season on 4.2 innings pitched.
NORTH PITCHER
Carrie Harvey, Cameron University, SR, RHP, Burkburnett, Texas, Burkburnett HS
Harvey became the single-season strikeout leader this weekend against LSC North rival Central Oklahoma. With her first strikeout on Saturday, Harvey surpassed Crystal Smith’s 2003 mark of 179. She finished the day with eight total strikeouts and has 187 on the season. While not her best weekend performance of the season, Harvey’s 14 innings of work helped the Aggies to a 2-1 series victory over UCO while improving their conference record to 3-3. On the season, Harvey totes a 1.97 ERA with a 10-7 record. She has 28 appearances with 20 starts and 15 complete games. Of those 15, seven were turned in shutouts. Her school record strikeout numbers are tops in the conference and nearly thirty better than her closest competitor.
CO-SOUTH HITTER
Kim LeComte, West Texas A&M University, JR, CF, Boerne, Texas, Boerne HS,
LeComte hit .588 with four home runs and 11 RBI last week as the #10 Lady Buffs went 3-2. The Boerne, Texas native broke the Lone Star Conference career home run record on the road Saturday against Abilene Christian with her 40th and 41st career bomb, breaking the record previously held by Angelo State’s Macy Baker with 39. LeComte leads the Lady Buffs in batting average (..476), home runs (10), slugging percentage (.963), triples (3) and RBI (39).
Bailey Vrazel, Texas Woman’s University, FR, SS, Danbury, TX, Danbury,
Vrazel set the tone for the Pioneers as the lead-off hitter and posted a .762 on base percentage and stole 17 bases on 17 attempts to lead the team to 4-1 record during the week. She also led the Pioneers in batting average (.583) and runs (9) in five games. The freshman shortstop leads the team and the LSC with 41-for-41 stolen bases this season. Vrazel stole nine bases in the doubleheader against Eastern New Mexico on Friday and reached base 17 of the 21 at bats during the week. She has started every game this season and leads the team in batting average (.422), runs (23), on base percentage (.505) and stolen bases (41-for-41).
SOUTH PITCHER
Kayla Williams, Texas Woman’s University, SO, P/OF, Longview, TX, Spring Hill
Williams helped the Pioneers to 4-1 record during the week picking up three of the four wins with three complete games. She struck out 20 batters in 17.2 innings including a career-high 11 strike outs against Newman on Monday. Leading by 9 runs against Eastern New Mexico on Saturday, Williams pitched 4 2/3 hitless innings before losing the no-hitter on a bunt single. On offense she batted .533, scored seven runs, drove in five runs and stole six bases on seven attempts. Williams leads the team in every pitching category this season including ERA (2.67), Wins (6) and strikeouts (43).
