Only one Top 10 team lost this week, allowing Bloomsburg (Pa.) to enter the Top 10 for the first time this year, at No. 10 in the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The rest of the Top 10 was unchanged as Pittsburg State (Kan.) still holds onto the top spot with 29 first-place votes. Minnesota-Duluth, Colorado State-Pueblo, Grand Valley State (Mich.) and Winston-Salem State (N.C.) round out the Top 5.

LSC FOOTBALL
Five games are scheduled for this week, with Abilene Christian at Delta State on Thursday night, and four Lone Star Conference match-ups on Saturday. The ACU-DSU game is part of the GSC-LSC First and Ten Challenge, and will be shown on GSC-TV live.
West Texas A&M and Angelo State top the LSC standings after victories over Incarnate Word and Abilene Christian, respectively, last week.
LSC football teams are 16-17 overall this season. The squads are 2-3 combined versus the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Valley Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, which are also in NCAA Super Regional Four.
FIRST DOWN
- A pair of LSC teams are ranked in AFCA poll (Sept. 24) with No. 14 Midwestern State and No. 23 West Texas A&M.
- Week four included four 100-yard rushing performances, one 400-yard and two 300-yard passing effort along with four 100-yard receiving performances.
- MSU (K. Jackson-156 yards, and J. Pipkin-113) and Tarleton (V. Smith-167 yards and Z. Henshaw-113) each had a pair of 100-yard rushers this week. The Texans duo marked the first time since the 2009 season.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Keidrick Jackson, Midwestern State University, JR, RB, Arlington, Texas, Bowie HS
Jackson ran for 156 yards on 18 carries and scored four touchdowns in leading No. 15 Midwestern State to a 45-28 win at Texas A&M-Kingsville. Jackson’s four touchdowns and 24 points against the Javelinas are the most for an NCAA Division II player this season. Jackson’s 73-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter stymied a TAMUK comeback attempt and helped the Mustangs to the best team rushing game in the conference this season with 421 yards. Jackson, who leads the LSC with 82.7 yards a game, posted the eighth 100-plus rushing game of his career. He now stands eighth on the MSU career rushing list with 1,721 yards, and is third on the MSU career scoring list with 196 points.
DEFENSIVE
Rush Seaver, Angelo State University, SO, LB, Lampassas, Texas, Lampassas HS
Seaver led a Ram defense that pressured Abilene Christian quarterback Mitchell Gale into seven sacks on its way to an 28-23 upset victory over No. 19 ACU. The ASU defense limited the Wildcats to only nine yards rushing with Seaver accounting for 2.5 sacks and two tackles for loss. He was the Rams leading tackler with eight total tackles.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Greg Saladino, Midwestern State University, JR, K, Kingwood, Texas, Kingwood HS
Saladino nailed a 27-yard field goal and connected on all six point-after-touchdown attempts as the No. 15 Midwestern State Mustangs beat Texas A&M-Kingsville 45-28. Saladino has connected on all 12 of his PATs this season and is 5-of-5 in field goals as well. Additionally, Saladino punted five times for a 39.4 average with a long punt of 46 yards and two punts inside the 20. Four of the five punts were fair caught. Saladino leads LSC kickers in scoring with 9.0 points a game and is second in the league in punting with a 41.1 yard average.
