Samoei turned in an eighth-place performance at the Southern Stampede, with a time of 25:24.34. He led Eastern to a fourth-place finish at the event.

FEMALE
Ashley Flores, Midwestern State University, JR, Haltom City, Texas, Haltom HSFlores narrowly missed a school 5K record in finishing 12th against a strong field Saturday at the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin. The junior from Haltom City posted a time of 18:09.78 finishing just over a second behind Sydnee Cole’s time of 18:09.78 set at the same event in 2010. Her effort helped the Mustangs place fourth behind Division I Tulsa and Arkansas and Division II traditional power and host Missouri Southern.
