Leaf resigns amid allegations
West Texas A&M quarterbacks coach Ryan Leaf resigned effective immediately, the university announced late Thursday afternoon.
The former Washington State standout and five-year NFL quarterback allegedly obtained painkillers from a Buffaloes player, who recently had been injured, Canyon Police said Wednesday. Leaf is being investigated for possible criminal offenses, Lt. Dale Davis said.
Leaf is in his third season at WT as an assistant football coach and also was the Buffs golf coach. Offensive coordinator Scott Parr is taking over Leaf's duties in football while Jimmy Jameson will replace Leaf as golf coach.

it seems like people assume Ryan Leaf is going to screw up before it actually happens... but i guess this is mostly his own doing
