Tarleton State head men's basketball coach Lonn Reisman has announced the addition of a second guard from Maryland to his 2009 recruiting class.

Jeremy Myers of Hagerstown Community College, who began his college career at NCAA Division I Central Connecticut State, has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Texans in the 2009-10 academic year.

"I picked Tarleton because I liked the family environment of the whole program," said Myers, a 6-1 combo guard. "Coach Reisman gave me the impression that the entire program is a family and you're part of the brotherhood as long as you're alive."

Myers also received attention from South Carolina State, New Hampshire, Francis Marion and Columbia during the recruiting process.

"Jeremy is an outstanding individual who I believe will bring a tremendous level of leadership to our program," said Reisman, who is 435-196 in 21 seasons at Tarleton. "When he was in high school he played against guys like Ty Lawson (2009 national champion with North Carolina), and as a freshman at a Division I school he played in every game and started one for an NCAA tournament team. That type of experience is very hard to find. It's like we're bringing in a Division I player, but we get him for two years instead of just one."
