LSC Roundup 5-19

James, ASU Featured on ESPN
Freshman phenom Sandy James and the rest of the Angelo State softball team will be featured on the May edition of NCAA On Campus, scheduled to premiere Wednesday, May 20, at 11 a.m. (Central) on ESPN Classic.

The monthly show, produced by the NCAA, was taped during the final weekend of the regular season on the campus of Angelo State with the Rambelles' first baseman serving as the lead story. The Kilgore native leads NCAA Division II in home runs entering this weekend's NCAA D-II National Championship Finals.

With 25 home runs in her debut campaign, James has tied the NCAA all-division freshman record for home runs this season, matching the mark of Kelly Krestschman of Alabama in 1998. At the time of the taping, James was riding a school-record 24-game hitting streak.
