WT football player arrested on drug charge - Joe Gamm, Amarillo Globe News
Two men, including a starting defensive lineman on West Texas A&M University’s football team, were arrested early this morning on drug possession charges, according to Canyon police.
Police arrested 23-year-old Simione Kuli, a 6-foot-5, 265-pound lineman on the team, and Richard Neill, a 22-year-old Canyon man.
Canyon police Chief Dale Davis said a narcotics investigation led police to a home in the 2800 block of Second Avenue, where marijuana and drug paraphernalia allegedly were found about 7 a.m. today.
Kuli was booked into the Randall County jail on a charge of possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Neill was booked into the jail on a charge of possession of marijuana, more than two ounces and less than four, and also a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Davis said the charges could be enhanced because the alleged offenses occurred in a drug-free zone.
