Complete LSC Release

Diamond Players of the Week
LSC Hitter
Nate Arevalo, Cameron, Sr., Third Base, Tucson, Ariz./South Mountain Community College
Arevalo, the Lone Star Conference's reigning Diamond Hitter of the Week, had another great week as he led CU to 4-1 record last week. Arevalo led the team with an impressive 12 total RBI and extended his hitting streak to an outstanding 10 games. The only game Arevalo has not hit safely in was CU's season-opener versus Bacone College. Arevalo was a monumental reason the Aggies battled back from being down 8-5 against a strong Missouri Southern State squad, as he contributed 6 RBI and a pair of monster home runs in the come-from-behind, 18-8 blowout victory. Arevalo has also made a nearly seamless transition from second base to third base this season. He only committed 1 error last week, which was his first of the season. For the season, Arevalo currently leads the team with 19 RBI, a .512 batting average, a .878 slugging percentage, and 3 home runs. Last week Arevalo also contributed 4 putouts and 14 assists.

LSC Pitcher
Jeffrey Asby, Angelo State, Sr., Pitcher, Centerville, Texas/Centerville
Asby made two appearances in relief for the Rams helping them to a 3-1 series win over Southeastern Oklahoma to open LSC play. The 6-1 right hander from Centerville via Navarro JC pitched two innings of scoreless relief in Friday's nightcap, surrendering one hit while striking out four, to earn his first win of the season as ASU defeated SOSU, 8-4. Asby came back on Saturday and tossed two more innings of scoreless relief, retiring all six batters he faced with two strikeouts, helping preserve the win and setting up Joe Key for the save. For the week, Asby pitched four innings with six strikeouts while giving up just one hit with no walks and holding the opposition to a .077 batting average.
