LSC Roundup (2-6)

Lady Buffs coach optimistic

Maybe just this once, the fourth time may be the charm.
The West Texas A&M softball team begins its fourth season today since the program was revived, opening with a three-game series against Texas-Permian Basin.

The Lady Buffs have steadily improved each season. Last year, they set a team record for wins with a 25-33 record and missed the Lone Star Conference postseason tournament by one game. The Lady Buffs are thinking they will make the LSC tournament this season.

"Each of the first three years we have gotten better" WT coach Kevin Blaskowski said. "Now, in year four, I feel we have the depth to compete for an opportunity to make the conference tournament. Having a winning season is another big goal on our part. We think year four is a year we can accomplish good things."
