Local football players transfer to Abilene Christian
Former area standouts Buck Burnette and Kyle Fox are hoping for a fresh start in college football with the Division II Abilene Christian University Wildcats.

Both are enrolled at Abilene Christian this semester, a school spokesman said.

Burnette, an offensive lineman from Wimberley, was dismissed from Texas last fall after he posted a racially inflammatory remark about then President-elect Barack Obama on his Facebook account.

Fox, a running back and a former Judson standout, rushed for 1,417 yards as a freshman at Angelo State in 2005.

Both are expected to go through spring training with the Wildcats, defending champions in the Lone Star Conference.
