Basketball News
Rams rally past WT, 65-63
Kyle Shields played his 114th career game for the West Texas A&M Buffs on Wednesday night, and the senior guard from Palo Duro High never looked better.

Still, it wasn't enough.

Shields lit up Angelo State for a career-high 31 points, but the Buffs lost their third straight game, dropping a 65-63 heartbreaker to Angelo State in Lone Star Conference South Division action at the Junell Center in San Angelo.

Javelinas men still in the hunt
It took a while for Texas A&M-Kingsville’s men’s basketball team to assert itself against a team that had lost 11 consecutive games.

Once the Javelinas did, control of the game came with it.

After a strong start, the Eastern New Mexico University Zias went 10 minutes without a field goal. Witte adds pop for fast-starting Lady Buffs
The West Texas A&M softball team is off to its best start since the program was revived in the 2006 season.

The Lady Buffs won their first eight games before losing 8-4 to Missouri Western on Sunday.
"It was one of those games where we felt in control most of the game," WT coach Kevin Blaskowski said. "It just got away from us."

While WT has had some solid pitching to count on, the offense has stepped it up as well. Kaitlyn Witte has gotten in a groove after getting off to a slow start, with 12 RBIs.
